This is one of the famous buffet hotpot shop and is recommended by locals. There are a few branches and it's good to make advanced reservations. Prices vary for lunch and dinner. You're given two hours to dine in, however, the time starts when you're assigned a table. You get to choose two soup bases from the five available. You also get to four choices of different cuts of meat - beef, pork, lamb, squid or shrimp paste. These can be replenished. Bring the plates on your table to get other raw ingredients, including vegetables, different types of meatballs, seafood. You can make your own dipping sauce too. Beverages choices include teas, beer, canned drinks, and many cold drinks. During my visit, rice and curry are available too. There's also various fruits, cakes and puddings. 20 choices of Movenpick and Haagen Dazs ice cream are available too. Overall, the choices make it worth your money, however, do time your meal wisely in order to enjoy desserts too.

The quality of the buffet here is amazing for the price, meat such as Wagyu, Angus and USDA Prime meats were used here. Bring a large appetite because you will eat a lot.

If I were to compare the price to a Singapore Hotpot store the cost would already be in the $100. But over here its extremely reasonably priced. Drinks like Beer are included and is free flow. Whats more for Ice cream lovers is they provide Haagen Daaz and Movenpick Ice Cream.

Crowds here are big though, if you want come earlier. If you are staying in the Ximending area there are actually 5 Mala Hotpot stores within walking distance of each other. So if the queue is long at a place just walk on over to the next.

For example we were given an hour waiting time. So we decided to go to another outlet to try our luck and luckily we were able to get a table instantly. I'm guessing cause there are some outlets which are hidden away at 4th/5th floor, we went to the 1 right next to the Uniqlo building at Ximending, with a cinema ticket office at the groundfloor.

The place has great selection of meat, seafood, veg and drinks. I definitely would recommend this place if you are in Taiwan, basically due to the food quality and extremely reasonable price. It's about 38dollars per person.

Bring your biggest appetites when eating here because the food and drinks selection is outstanding! Everything (meat, seafood, veggies) was fresh, tasty, and fun to "cook" on the table. I liked the self serve concept - that everyone can just get their own drinks as often as they want and make their own dips and sauces. My absolute favorite part was the eat all you can dessert of cakes, fruits, and ice cream (choose from several delectable flavors of Mövenpick and Häagen Dazs). Heavenly! Mala Hotpot is a must visit in Taipei.
