Description: Traditional Taiwanese Taste as a Modern Cuisine Shin Yeh Taiwanese Cuisine got its start in 1977 in Taipei on ShuangCheng Street and was the founding brand of the restaurant group. In addition to small, cold side-dishes, specialty rice porridges and many home-style flavors from the street transformed into restaurant dishes, there are now Shin Yeh signature must-taste dishes such as Fried Pork Liver, Traditional Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Braised River Eel, and after-dinner Almond Tofu, Almond Tea, Glutinous Rice and other classic Taiwanese dishes. Using traditional authentic taste as its foundation, Shin Yeh continues to innovate, keeping in step with the times. Over the past 40 years Shin Yeh has grown alongside the people of Taiwan and relentlessly exerted itself in Taiwanese cuisine. It has become not only what overseas Chinese miss deeply, but also the preferred restaurant for our foreign friends visiting Taiwan.

Overpriced ‘Taiwanese Street Food’. Total tourist trap.

Went there with my parents. Total 3 ppl and we ordered 5 small dishes with porridge and the total bill came up to 1500. We could easily get all of this for 500 in porridge stores in Da-an.

I saw 3 other tables and they were all tourist with no locals.

Avoid at all cost!!!

Taiwanese food until recently was considered to be street food. Now Shin Yeh has lifted Taiwanese food into the realms of haute cuisine. I must say that Shin Yeh brings back memories. Dong Po Ro is composed of sour vegetables, pork and crushed peanuts in a bun. Once you bought the buns from street vendors. We also had prawns with cashews, and beef with green vegetables and other dishes. In all, we had an ample meal. Shin Yeh is a favorite hang-out for the movers and shakers of Taiwan politics.

No matter how long I will stay in Taipei, how many people in the trip, we won't leave Taipei without visiting Shin Yeh. Booking is necessary, they are crowded all the time.

There are several dishes on our list:
~ Salted chicken
~ Crab in sticky rice
~ Taiwan pancake
~ Pan fry pig liver
~ Garlic fry A vegetable

They can maintain the standard all these years. That's why this place is still worth to wait every time.

In Taipei this restaurant is famous for Taiwanese dishes. They are prepared well tasty and have a wide selection. The menu is illustrated with photos and is easy to make a choice. The prices are reasonable.

I did not understand the ratings and reviews for this restaurant. Perhaps what I ordered was not the best dish but I still expected it to be very good based on how popular the place seemed. Service was hit and miss as the staff were running all over the place and seated me behind a column - so had to wait a while to get anyone’s attention. The food was okay but nothing special.
