Stopped in for a bite to eat as we were passing through. Louise Killeen renowned singer was there. Had an excellent pint of Guinness and the traditional staple of chips and curry sauce. Managed to solve the wooden puzzle but only after the first pint kicked in....

We stopped here on our way back from Clonmacnoise for lunch. We walked through town and decided this looked like a good place to eat. There weren't a lot of tables for 6 people but we managed around a small table for 3. Our waitress/bartender was very entertaining. We learned that she was a golfer and that she also had recorded a CD of her own music. As my dad likes to support all budding artists, he bought her CD. Our lunch was typical pub far but the best part of our lunch was the puzzle that she gave us to figure out. None of the six people at our table could do it. She finally showed us how it was done. Overall a very entertaining lunch.

One of the "Old real Pubs of Ireland".The Killeen family have run this pub for generations. You can enter through the shop where you can buy food, household goods, fishing gear and bait.
Then wander into a fascinating bar covered with memorabilia, and witty sayings. There are hundreds of business cards pinned to the ceiling.Live music on many nights of the week. If you are lucky Mick Killeen may join the band with his trombone.Good food and a great Pub atmosphere.

Stopped here by chance and very glad we did. One of the best Irish traditions, not seen too often these days... the local shop and pub bar....

The lunch food was good, home made soup and sandwiches ... great service and made to feel very welcome. Full of traditional bits and bobs, a step into the past and I bet really good music in the evenings!

A must stop over if you can .... drop in and just have a shop and a pint together.
