Perfect stay! Our favourite hotel in 3 weeks of travelling around Sri Lanka. Lovey leafy setting close to the beach but far enough away to be peaceful. Lovely pool, excellent restaurant with some of the best food we have had since being here, lovely clean room with four poster bed, safe, toiletries, great shower and decent wifi (although it kept dropping out on my phone). Great service too.

We had a family room and it was beautiful. The beds were very inviting and the staff were very friendly. They were kind enough to let us use a room with shower facilities as we were checking out late. The pool was really nice. Breakfast was ok i think it could do with more variety. It's close walk to the beach. Rooms had nice hot shower but you'll need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner - as is the case in most places in SL. Would stay here again.

A quiet accommodation within an easy walk of harbour and town.
We stayed in an upstairs room overlooking the pool. The room was really pleasant with a comfy bed and a good shower room. The addition of a fridge was great.
The breakfast was very good and served by excellent staff. All staff here are pleasant and helpful.
Happy to recommend .

The hotel is in a good location, along one of the residential streets near the beach. There's parking within the hotel grounds. We walked easily to and from the beach, and also back from the harbour. On arrival we had a welcome drink and were met with very sweet service from the girl on reception and the other staff. We had a whale watching trip the next morning and she arranged for us to be able to keep the room for a little longer the next day so we could store our bags.

We loved our room. It was one of the junior suites and was very spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and gardens, AC, a king size bed as well as a bunk bed, a large bathroom and separate sink area, a fridge, and a table and set of chairs within the room. We were at the end of the row of rooms with no room on either side of us so it was also very private.

We used the pool, which was lovely. They provide you with separate beach/pool towels. We did not eat at the hotel.

I can see why people come and stay for a long time.

I stayed one night at this Resort.First I was interested to find out the meaning of Handagedara. The main old house is the house owned by the present owners father in law.During the traditional Sinhala New Year the village people used to visit this ancestor house to practice the habit of application of NANU [oil] which is made out fourteen herbal plants at a given auspicious time before having a shower for the New Year.Watching the Moon is another habit practiced by the people. Handa means Moon. Gedara means House.
This house was named as Moon House or Handa Gedara.
We had a nice stay without any disturbances. We had a sea food meal for dinner and it was a delicious meal.
The staff is very polite and looked after our needs during our short stay.
All basic facilities were available in my room.
Next day early morning I saw the owner sweeping the compound and it was a very uncommon sight for me.The staff work as a Team and try their best to full fill the requirements of the guests.
I wish all the best for the year 2017 for the staff and hope to visit once again.

Room tip: Ground floor is good for elderly visitors.
