Four out of five may be a bit high, but it's for the value. We paid just under 6000yen for two people during a busy weekend in Nagoya (Nagoya and Osu Festivals were on). As others said, this hotel is just a few minutes from Marunouchi station (Red Line/Sakudori Line) and a little more from Fushimi Station (Yellow and Blue lines/Higashiyama and Tsurumai lines).
The room is small - as usual for Japanese business hotels. However, it was clean, everythings worked fine, and there was a nice sliding panel over the window to block the morning sun far better than curtains would. On top of this, there was a pretty awesome breakfast included in the price: salad, potato salad, boiled eggs, juice, coffee and tea, and about 9 different kinds of bread. On top of that, you could make your own "Ogura Toast" ("anko" sweet bean paste with margarine on toast) there - a real Nagoya specialty. If you like Ogura/Anko (and I do), give it a try. It's great!
It is located 2mins from Marunouchi (5mins from Fushimi) which is only few stops away from Nagoya Station connected from the Chubu International Airport. The map they had on the website was very easy to follow and found the hotel very easily even though this was my first trip to Nagoya.
Room is relatively small however it is clean and has everything you need - TV, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brush, mini fridge and hair dryer. If you book online you can get good discount as well so worth checking out the website and book online.
Around the hotel they have many good izakaya and yakitori restaurants - very reasonable and great food. Looking forward to stay with Grace Inn again soon!
Pretty typical business hotel in Nishiki area. If you need a place to sleep after a day of business, this is quite adequate.
Location is close to Fushimi station, can walk there with a suitcase without much problem. For me this was perfect as I was working near by and did need to travel on the trains after checkout. There are plenty of small bars and restaurants located around the hotel, and you could walk to Sakae in around 15-20 mins if desired.
Room was on the small side and pretty dated. Bed was on the typical Japan side of 'firm' but as expected the room was spotless and in good order. Bathroom was the usual space capsule job, including the obligatory toilet seat warmer!
Staff were pretty gruff - but that may have to do with our mutual communications block. Didnt try breakfast and as with all of Nagoya, couldn't use the telco-provided WIFI so used LAN cable with no fuss.
All in all - good enough - nothing fancy - would stay only if doing business in the immediate area, else would go to Sakae.
