Kamameshi very plain and dry, quickly ended up eating just rice as topping was not very generous.
Yakitoris were barely Ok, far below some other places we have visited in Tokyo.
I wouldn’t recommend.

While shopping in the super high-priced Ginza district and spending all your money, you may want to eat at a great yakitori and rice (cheap by Japan standards) just a few streets in near the Uniqlo store on the main street. It's in a basement in an alley where many Tokyo restaurants are located. Arriving just a few minutes after opening, there's already a line. Locals seem to come early. The yakitori and rice were amazing. Service is a bit slow probably due to the crowd. They have an English menu, which is always a plus, but they only take cash. If you want expensive westernized Japanese food, stay on the main drag.

We had never eaten Kamameshi Japanese cuisine and were interested in trying. We met our Japanese friends there and became fans of this Japanese style. The restaurant is very bright and the servers are attentive. Each of our pots was delicious and the food came quickly after the order. You dip in your spoon and stir all the ingredients and then eat. Very extensive choices for kamameshi dining here. It is located in Ginza so very easy to find. Worth the effort!

I was pretty disappointed with this one. There were a line when we left the restaurant (came for lunch) but we didn't understand why. We frequented Yakitori place often in Manhattan and there are some very good spots in Manhattan such as sobba Totto. And this place cannot compare to it

They also don't serve bonjiri (chicken tail/butt) which is a speciality.

I live in Bali, eat good quality of rice everyday, and yet Torigin kamameshi made me realize there's yet another different kind of "bliss" I can get from eating, well, rice.

But the fun didn't stop there. Their grilled chicken skewers were also fantastic. My family favorite was the chicken liver, one of the best chicken liver dishes I've tasted in the whole world.

Don't get discouraged if you arrive here finding a long queue, their lines move pretty fast. You'll be missing a lot if you don't eat at this restaurant!
