If there’s a more impressive department store that this anywhere I’d like to see it, the quality is top drawer and some of the displays are works of art. A must see if you’re shopping in Shinjuku and don’t miss the roof garden.
I saw some nice necklaces but I was not in the market for jewelry. I had a delicious dinner at the eel restaurant on a Tuesday night. It was not busy. Service was attentive and professional. The food was good. There are other restaurants on the same floor offering a varieties of food. I would love to visit next time I am in the area. I went to the basement to pick up sushi to go twice. The sushi was fresh even though I bought them around 6pm and 7pm when they offered the end of day discount.
For years, I have gone to the old stand-by's in the Ginza district. This was the first time I had gone up to the Shinjuku area. I was seriously impressed with Isetan. They have everything one could possibly want. In fact, I would say they had more than even than their Giza competitors.

Went here for the second time because they sell Japanese-made Porter bags (and not the “Porter International” sold here in Singapore). Service staff is one-on-one: they’d let you sit down on a table, let you examine the merchandise (and confirm if you like it). Once you want to purchase: just hand over your cash (or credit card) on the small tray and they’d do the cashier transaction. They’d hand over the bad only once you step out of their section! Superb!
