Superb location, clean, and good service

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 19 Jun 2023via mobile
This is a basic hotel that will allow you a comfortable rest after a day of touring the city. The room we got has 2 beds and 2 sofas. Our family of 4 can comfortably move inside. The beds are clean, and the bathroom is clean, too. There is no mini-bar, but they provided some mineral water. They do not clean the room on 2 successive days, so we had to put out our trash just outside our door. You can request cleaning every other day. You can get fresh towels, though, plus trash bags every time you need it. Same with tea. There is a laundry area on the 2nd floor that has a coin-operated washer and dryer. The hotel is quiet despite being along a main road and near the Ueno station. Its proximity to the Ueno station is a huge advantage in moving around. There is a nearby 7-11 and Family Mart, which makes it so convenient to buy food.
Date of stay: June 2023
Room Tip: There are only 2 washers and dryers, but you can do your laundry any time.

Small street entrance and then down a corridor and take the lift up to reception. Staff were friendly and very helpful, but didn’t speak much English. The room was small but clean and had good facilities. Stayed 3 nights happily. Breakfast options (included in price) were limited and mostly sweet – it was a little inconvenient that it needed to be taken back to your room for eating as there was no common area space to sit down for breakfast. But location was excellent (and price good) being so close to Ueno station, Ameya-yokocho, general shopping and Ueno Park as well as being within walking distance of Kappabashi Street and Don Quixote. There were plenty of different restaurants nearby. Luggage storage was easy to arrange whilst sightseeing on the last day.

If you do not look very well you miss out on this hotel
Rooms are very small, bed is not comfortable, for the breakfast you have to go to the front desk pick up some bread and coffee and take it to your room,
I can’t call this a hotel ,just call it a place to sleep and not to expect to much

Room tip: I think all rooms are the same

For Tokyo standards, this place offers decent accomodation at a fair price, in a very good location.
The rooms were clean, with good sound isolation, and were not too small. WiFi worked perfectly.
JR Ueno station is barely a minute away, which itself is the gateway to numerous Tokyo highlights such as Uneo Park, Tokyo Skytree, Yanaka District, Ameyoko market, to name but a few.
Some people might not appreciate the fact that the bathroom is only separated from the room by a sliding door.
We were particularly suprised by the nice view from our room and all the toiletries supplied.

The place has a nice feel about it, sharp clean not decadent, well appointed and extremely comfortable with all the bathroom luxuries.
Breakfast was great with a little oven to heat your bread and pastries.
The coffee was great. Good gesture to have a European Breakfast so time isn’t wasted on finding breakfast getting straight on to sightseeing.

Manager was a real gentleman.

Location was so good with seafood restaurants at a stones through and easy luggage access to the train station to get to Yokohama.

Clean and quiet within walking distance from the Ueno station. The room like most Japanese rooms are small, but it had a safe, mini fridge and a mini take away breakfast (Toast, mini pastries, juice, tea, coffee, instant soup) included. Please note that room keys must be dropped off at the front desk upon leaving and picked up on return.
