We had a lovely stay during our spring break visit. Our family room was very spacious and clean. Staff were very helpful and kind. We loved having a washer/dryer and a separate WC and shower. We didn’t use the kitchen but the plates and fridge were useful. Only con was that the bed wasn’t very soft.

Our family of 4 stayed at this hotel, during a four day, stopover in Tokyo, after skiing in Japan. We decided to splurge and book the ninja themed room-which offered more beds than we needed, but a separate bedroom for the children, and two bathrooms which is Quite a luxury in Tokyo. The beds & pillows were really comfortable & although we had a large dining table - it was a bit odd to not have a lounge to relax on.
The hotel was conveniently located a couple of minutes walk from the Ueno-Hirokoji (Ginza Metro line) station - which provides access to Asakusa Station in the north-which is a lovely historic area with a temple, good restaurants and sky tree tower. The other end of the Ginza line includes Shibuya-home to the famous Shibuya Crossing and other good restaurants and shops, etc. the trendy and lux suburb of Ginza is also on this line.
Also, very close to this hotel is a big department store – Parco and lots of ‘Lawson’ convenience stores to grab snacks etc.
We dined at:
- Warayakiya izakaya - which is just around the corner from the hotel. It’s a very authentic Japanese restaurant with good ambience, tasty food, friendly staff and traditional food (more suited to adults). We recommend the seared bonito (there speciality!) and the whiskey yuzu highball cocktail.
-Pork cutlet Yamabe Okachimachi - which is a tiny authentic Japanese restaurant specialising in pork Tonkatsu. There are only 14 seats, so we recommend getting there early, although they seem to turnover pretty quickly. We literally sat at a counter overlooking the staff preparing meals, but it is tasty food and very reasonably priced. Note it’s cash only the dish we ordered was ¥1,250 each.

Hotel location is very good, almost in the heart of Ueno
It is only 6 minutes from JR Okachimachi, and it is closer to Kushiro and Ueno Okachimachi
Within ten minutes from the hotel, you can find everything from Matsuzakaya, Takiyoshiya, Don Quijote, Nikko Fruit, and business supermarkets.
The hotel staff were very helpful and provided many special services. Thank you very much for their hospitality.
This is a new service fortunate to have breakfast. Although you have to handle it yourself, it is a special experience.

MIMARU TOKYO UENO Okachimachi property is in a very convenience place that nearby 2 metro, 1 subway and JR(2 Line) station. So is very easily to go to famous spot in Tokyo like Asakusa, Ueno and also Shibuya. There are also a lot of restaurant around our hotel, some of them serve to midnightm, too.
We have property in Tokyo and Kyoto now, and we look forward to seeing you next time.

Strategic location within 500m to Ueno-Okachimachi, Yushima, Narita-Skyliner and JR-Ueno station. Walking distance to Ueno Park with wonderful Sakura view. Room is very new and clean, complete with kitchenware for quick-cooking. Hotel was doing promotion for breakfast, it was tasty. Most importantly, well English & Chinese spoken hotel staff showed good hospitality.
