The entire experience of this trail loop was a wonder and an inspiration. The design of the trail is impeccable, down to the bent steel railing. The experience is enhanced by two boards with poems by William Stafford. Rocks, trees, views, peaks are so present and vibrant. This overlook rivals the experience of the path in Yosemite National Park that overlooks Little Yosemite Valley.

This is on the Eastern side of the park.
The parking lot for this is large and there are bathrooms.
The overlook is right off from the parking lot and the views are spectacular.
We were able to take our dog with us which was great.
The views from here are incredible in all directions.
This was one of our most favorite spots in the park.

drive about .5 mile off Hwy 20 once you park follow small red sign for outlook. if you are at outlook and continue left you will be at a point where you can only climb up. Do not do this if you are afraid of heights or have any physical challenges. Turn around and go back same way you came there is another paved trail just a little higher up that will get you to the same place and you don't have to be part mountain goat. They are both great views.

If you are driving the North Cascades Highway make sure you go as far as Mt. Washington. You won't be disappointed in the views. Not many places where you see a site like this.
