The food at the Sol Duc Lodge is not very good, was vastly overpriced and the waitstaff were incredibly slow. Moreover, we arrived towards evening looking forward to soaking in the hot springs, but heard from folks that by the end of the day, the springs (pools) were "greasy" from so many using them throughout the day. Yuck! We decided to wait until the following morning, when they would have been emptied and scrubbed. We got up early to get to the pools just as they opened, and the staff took their time about opening to doors to the pool area. Very frustrating, because we wanted to have a nice soak, get our showers and then go to breakfast. We got the soak in, got the showers in, but when we went to get breakfast, they had just closed and would not budge on letting us in. They told us we could go to their poolside cafe, but by that time we'd had enough of this place that pretends to be a resort.
On the plus side, our cabin was spotless and the area was very quiet at night.

Room Tip: Over-priced.

We had 4 kids with us, so I booked the spot that looked like it had the most room for kids to run around. (I booked in advance as most of these spots get booked pretty early) The site was cramped and we didn't have much room to run. Luckily there were trails and the hot springs close by to get the energy out. This isn't the spot for relaxing camp adventures in nature, the place was pretty full and there was lots of people everywhere. The park itself was beautiful and I would love to return to visit more of it.

First...this is one of the most beautiful places on earth! My family has been camping at Solduc Hotsprings for 5 generations, this weekend being the grandaughters first time. We have seen it go through many different managements...this has to be the worst! During our 4 day stay we saw a Camp Host once, accidentally, as he was cleaning a bathroom. Each area, Loop A & B and the RV lot had a designated Camp Host RV spot but never a person on duty. People were continually driving from one area to the next trying to find the Host so they could know where their reserved camping spots were. The Campground has switched to an Online Reservation system only, so no more walk-ins. If you don't have a spot reserved in advance, don't bother driving up there. Very confusing with no one to answer any questions. 100% of the camping sites had reserved tickets on them but 30% sat empty all weekend, as hopeful drop-in campers were turned away. This system forces people to reserve months in advance and then sites just sit empty with too many no-shows and drop-ins having to turn around and drive back down the valley. Enough said...nothing will change because the managing Company is making the money at the publics expense. Horrible management!! Very sad to see this happen to a much-loved camping tradition in this family...probably won't go back...

The RV campground is a car park subdivided into parking spaces.
The parking spaces are the minimum size required in which to park an RV.
The spaces are defined by a log.

The RV campground is provided by the commercial operation that runs the hot spring pools for accommodating additional punters.

One can boil oneself in the hot spring pools for $14.01. Go figure.

Cramped and commercial. I wouldn't return.

i love this whole area in the olympic nat'l park . we went to the campground and they have the mineral springs for a fee u can go in and soak in the huge outdoor pools and then have a nice dinner in the restraunt or they have a small store to get some items to cook at your campsite. then the next day me and my daughter took a small .08 mile hike up to sol duc waterfall. You can go from the campground and make the hike a bit longer ,but we drove to the trail head having never been there before we werent sure what to expect but it was beautiful everything was in full bloom and the fresh mt air was so nice.
