This was my first trip this area. It is a 24 mile/1 hour trip up the winding road to this resort from the 198 turn off, just two miles from the main entrance to the Sequoia National Forest, so, it is not "convenient" to drive back and forth everyday if that is your plan. However-There are PLENTy of trails to explore in this area of all lengths to Waterfalls, streams, lakes and open fields.

The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. They have the only restaurant in the area as well, with a yummy menu and fresh made pies daily. Nice outdoor eating area.

The cabin I had was new. Some come with kitchens, some don't. I thought mine did, but no biggie.
Just make sure you know what you are booking. Modern bath/shower/free standing tub. Large fireplace in the middle of the room. No furniture inside other than bed and built in closet. Lovely patio with furniture and a BBQ grill.
Also just a few yards away, a wood pile and fire pit, which we enjoyed every night.
All in all, very very nice.
The only downside for ME, is it does not have daily maid service. They supply a broom and dustpan. I had to ask for new towels too. Which is fine. I don't have a problem making my own bed and asking for towels, just know what you are "getting". It wasn't inexpensive .....so, that's my my only "negative".

We had a two night stay at this amazing place. Had we known we would love it this much we would have taken two more nights.
The staff is very professional and attentive.
Our Cabin Hocket Meadow was beautiful and almost brand new. The interior is so well thought trough and just makes you wanna stay forever.
There is a BBQ on the porch which is very nice but there is no fridge in the cabin to keep your fresh food. It would also be nice with a desk or table to put your stuff.
There is also a fire pit and the resort provides you with fire wood. Such a nice detail.
Sitting near the fire seeing the silhouettes of the great trees is a bliss.
There are many nice trekking routes in the nearby area Mineral King so you will have lots of things to do.
We hope we have the opportunity to come back soon.

We came to Mineral King to get away from everything and hike. Silver City did not disappoint. After 21 miles of windy and treacherous driving, the only sound to be heard was the water running in the creek. Though the beds are not the best, the simple cabin was comfortable. The common bathrooms are beautiful and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The cafe serves up simple tasty fare and great coffee. Hope to return soon.

Went to Hike and fell in love with the valley and the Resort. Great staff, clean cabins some remodeled, and wonderful food at the Resort restaurant. Cabins are now fully appointed so you do not have to bring linens, but you might want a coffee pot or french press. There is also no toasters. Great fire pits and plentiful wood for out door fires. There is very limited wifi, also very slow wifi throughout the valley so bring books!

A+++

Stayed in 'Shooting Star' cabin and absolutely loved it! Rustic light wood throughout looks recently renovated. Nice size bathroom with toilet, shower, plenty of fresh towels hanging on cute rustic metal rods. Spacious kitchen with stainless steel sink (with window above it), stovetop, oven and plenty of dishes, glassware, cookware and shelfspace. Cabin has electricity (but only one very hard to get to outlet, but no matter, didn't really need it). The refridgerator/freezer runs on propane as does some additional lights (which we didn't need to use). Wonderful restaurant with friendly, laid back service. The food was fantastic, especially the homemade pies with ice cream. Trails at the end of the road are fantastic. This property in the hard-to-reach but stunning Mineral King section of Sequoia National Park is really special. Loved every easy, unplugged minute of it.

Room tip: Shooting Star is a wonderful cabin.
