“Would be an amazing beach... but....”

Owner description: Foremans Cottage is a stylish and sophisticated retreat on Lunan Bay Beach. It has been featured in many glossies and with its 3 bedrooms, one with ensuite roll top, drench showers, and open fireplaces and log burner, it is ideal for a romantic break, families and a get away from it all break. The beach at Lunan is idyllic all year round.

I have visited a number of beaches in Scotland, both on the W and E coasts. Lunan Bay is along the E coast, 20min from Arbroaths, which is near Dundee. A semi-remote beach, which its own charms (though nothing like the remote beachs along the W coast). What really lets me down is the amount of rubbish found on it.... words fail me.

Just had our 3rd visit to this fab beach. The sand dunes provide hours of entertainment for the kids, it's even worth bringing your sledges to make the descent faster.
Although it's a relatively quiet location there's always something going on; a horse or two or water para-surfing (or what ever it's called).
This is our 2nd favourite beach after luskintyre in Harris.

We have been going here for years. A gem of a beach. The scenery is breathtaking, the beach is so clean. You stand on the beach on a stunning sunny day and you are transported to an idyllic spot, tranquil, peacefull, just stunning. Go see for yourself.

Lunan Bay is a brilliant asset for Angus in that it's absolutely stunning. Just a few miles from Arbroath and Montrose it's worth a visit regardless of the weather. There is good parking facilities now and a cafe you can grab lunch. The bay itself is untouched and very clean so if you take the dog there's no nasty surprises.

We hadn't been in years. It's a bit of a drive for us, but well worth it. Easy to get parked (out of season, I imagine it would be busy on a hot summers day). Nice to see a cafe had been built since our last visit (many years ago). Really beautiful place, we love the wee cave at the end of the beach. Loved that it's a safe place to walk our wee dog too! (Some previous dog owners had spoilt it a little bit by not clear ting up after their dogs, on the boss walk to the beach).

We hope to return again soon.
