I have stayed at the Merryburn several times now and can't recommend it enough! The Merryburn has recently been redecorated and the rooms are comfortable, well equipped and look great. The building as some fabulous period features and all the modern comforts needed for a great stay. Hillary is a fantastic host, really friendly and welcoming. The Merryburn is a great base for exploring Perthshire, and having a relaxing break.

Probably, like many blokes, I research areas I am visiting re what pubs there are, and on a couple of websites the Merryburn featured.

It was therefore with my eye on a pint that we popped into the Merryburn Hotel, only to find that it is now just a B&B with no bar. Having said that, we were fortunate to meet the two ladies who run the business and they were utterly charming, and we had a very pleasant chat.

The impression we got here is that they care passionately about their business, and from what we saw of the main lounge, it seems very smart B&B indeed.

Hillary and D bent over backwards to make our stay unforgettable, breakfast was good and filling, the rooms have been given a complete makeover with new bathrooms added to some rooms,
if you are planning a wee family get to-gether, this is the place to go they can sleep 15 and the lounge can support 30 for that special night. you can also bring your own food and drink into the hotel. during your stay. yes this truly is the place to go for that special night---Enjoy

We only live 15 miles from here but visited for an overnight stay with our dogs recently. We were really impressed!

The rooms have been recently refurbished and are lovely, everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and bringing the dogs was no issue at all. Some dog friendly hotels show the signs of having furry friends around but not this one - you'd think yours were the first to ever set foot in the place, it's so clean and well appointed.

Breakfast was great and the lounge was lovely and cosy. I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel for couples, families and their furry friends.

Our family of 3 adults stayed overnight on an unplanned visit to Birnam. We were delighted with our stay at the Merryburn and certainly intend to visit again.
The lovely hotel is recently refurbished in the soft Scottish trend and is very clean and smart looking. We were in room 4 which is large and bright with 2 windows, the bay window has a table and chairs for watching all that goes on around the area and relaxing while watching dusk fall. While not huge the shower room was absolutely fine and there was plenty of hot water. There were several plug sockets around the room and one perfectly situated by the big mirror for hair drying. ( How so many places still get that wrong is beyond me.) Internet access was free.
Breakfast was served promptly and was exactly what was ordered, 3 empty plates showed how much we enjoyed it.
What made our stay so special was the fabulous hospitality. Hillary could not have been more welcoming and helpful. She went out of her way and could not do more to meet the needs of her guests. The Merryburn is super value for money in a great location. It was a pleasure to stay in this family run business.
