When I arrived I didn't get the room I booked. I get a room without windows. Even though the concrete walls were painted it reminded me on a bunker. In this place are very strict rules, you can't recive visitors unless they introduce themselves with an ID card by the owner and visitors have to leave at 10 pm. It reminded me on a camp for teenagers. The owner said it's for safety reasons, but I felt he needs to control everything. The shared kitchen was dirty and guest wouldn't find their milk or jam in the fridge, because others used it.
I didn't liked the place at all and I asked to get part of my money back and leave. He then get very angry and unfriendly. I booked and it said non refundable, but I thought we could have found a solution that worked for both of us. I then still went to live elsewhere and kept the key for the room I unfortunately booked for 10 days. When I came back on my last day to bring back the key, the owner, Brandon changed the lock to my room and rented it to somebody else. I immediately called police, but they couldn't do anything. They said the court is responsible for a case like that. I am sure he knew this very well.

It's because of reviews like this one that hotel owners fear Trip Advisor. Someone books the wrong room, tries to get a refund, and when they don't, decide to post a nasty review. Luckily for us, the majority of guests have read about the hotel before they book - have the right expectations and enjoy their stay. Just see our average rating and Certificate of Excellence. Our website clearly states we don't have a lift, as we're in an lovely building. It also says - if anyone is thinking of booking with us and has mobility issues, please let us know when booking and we can locate you on a lower floor. Lastly, although the expect the area to be bustling and vibrant.

It was a good experience! The location was great and we had easy access to beaches, groceries and other facilities. The host was very hospitable and readily available and willing to answer any of our requests. The room was also very comfortable.

I spent a week at Fish Tobago and Brandon and co made the stay an enjoyable one. The hostel is clean quiet and well looked after. Brandon and the ppl who work there are helpful booking tours, renting cars ,giving directions to the beach and are friendly ppl to have around. When we drove around the island Brandon have us recommendations of places to visit(beaches waterfalls etc) and a good price on the rental vehicles. Fish Tobago is close to the beach, some local street food and on Sunday evenings a party named Sunday School. I would be happy to stay again and recommend Fish Tobago.

By far one of the best hostels I stayed at !! I've travelled to over 80 countries . I felt like a princess. As a solo traveler Brandon made sure all his guests had fun and ware well taken care of. So much to do. Nonstop fun from the time I landed. The staff is amazing and the Hostel was extremely clean. Everything you possibly need was at your finger tips. I will definitely stay there again!!! Excellent 5 stars!!

When we stayed at the Fish Hostel in Buccoo/ Tobago the owner Brandon was really disgusting. As two girls he took photos on a boat trip of us (and yeah- not just our face). When we asked to delete the photos he said that this is not possible. Furthermore he hassled us to have contact with him. If you are a women, don‘t go to this place!! There are more nice places in Buccoo where you can stay!
