Knew Kew Gardens from the past when visited it as a child having walked down the river towpath. Going back today for a visit was good. Even if the queues are longer and the cost considerable more. A must place to visit if you are in the area. The site is large enough that you can still get away and relax in a quiet area away from the tourist crowds. You can easily spend half a day or more there in good weather. Would be good if there were entrance discounts for NT or EH members. During busy times more entrance stations could be manned thus avoiding unnecessary queues. Best to book on line if you can, suspect it may be cheaper as well if combined with other London tourist visits and train travel.
