I spent three nights at the Marriott Aruba Stellaris and had a great time. This was my first time redeeming Marriott points, and I was treated very well. I paid $60 per night on top of the point redemption, for a partial ocean-view room, and it was well worth the price.
I came to Aruba in the middle of March, peak Spring Break. Despite arriving at 1:00pm, I had to wait until 4:00pm for the room to be available. Not surprising, as the hotel was super busy. This would be my only complaint. In the hotel's defense, I moved over to the Hilton afterwards, and also had to wait until 4:00pm. My room was very spacious, with a huge closet, good-sized bathroom, and balcony with an amazing view of the Caribbean Sea.
The main pool was terrific, with a swim-up bar and plenty of music. My first full day at the hotel was Aruba's Flag Day, so a band came through and an impromptu dance party took place. It was a lot of fun. My room overlooked the Adult-Only pool, which was obviously much quieter. Getting a free Palapa on the beach was difficult. so I paid $30 for one, and it worked out well.
I had dinner one night at the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. While quite expensive, the food quality and service was good. Breakfast at La Vista was very nice as well. As a Bonvoy Silver Member, I appreciated that all Marriott Elite members received a 10% discount on food and beverage. The Fitness Center had two stories, and very well-equipped with machines.
The Marriott is on a quieter section of Palm Beach, surrounded by two of their Time-Share properties and the Ritz Carlton. You have to walk about a mile down the beach to the main strip of restaurant and shops, but it wasn't a bad walk at all. Just a tip: walk on the beach pathway, as there's no sidewalk by the main road. I had a great time, and would definitely return!
