Beach is outstanding even though getting a good spot can be challenging you have to be early. Buffet food is decent enough and the restaurants are great. Sit outside at seafood and Italian restaurant. Both have great food. Hibachi, Japanese and Mexican also very good. Cervichi at Mexican was great. Pool is a bit small and not incredibly kid friendly. Rooms overlooking pool and ocean have an excellent patio view. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Location of the resort is perfect you can walk the strip which comes to life at night. Wifi is an issue and drinks could be stronger but everything overall the resort is a great vacation.

This island is really a happy place. I had my wedding and honeymoon here. Amazing and beautiful. My wedding coordinator Joally Croes was the best. They made my guest feel so welcomed. The rooms were amazing. The staff that clean the room were amazing. The sheets and towels were changed daily. Joally really rolled out the red carpet for me and I felt like a princess the day of my wedding. My husband and I made the best decision with having our wedding here at this all inclusive resort.
We had the Royal level club and the drinks and food was amazing.
Clarimar was a great bartender and very courteous to us. We felt like we were family with her. Caesar the other bartender gave great drinks and his hospitality was amazing.
Great resort and we will be going back next year.
I hope to see the same staff next year. Such an amazing resort with great staff who made you feel so welcomed.

we spent 7 nights and 8 days at the barcelo aruba and the resort is amazing, on the smaller side but i loved it, everything's pretty close for walking distance. the room was a little on the smaller side vs other resorts we stayed at but no biggie, wasn't a deal breaker. the mini fridge was stocked with 2 beers, 6 pop and 3 water bottles, wish it had more bottles and variety. the welcome presents where delicious and very thoughtful. the pool was a good size, the swim up bar was on point. they made delicious drinks. the beach was very close to the resort, not that much of a walk. the buffets had a good variety, just like any buffet. the Italian restaurant was my favorite, the mexican one came in a close 2nd. and the Japanese was also yummy. the waiters in all restaurants where very helpful and always smiling. the upstairs lounge bar was the best part because of the servers, DJ, and bartenders. seriously made our entire trip randy was very helpful and made our drinks perfectly, every time :) also hes quite the magician, vanessa was on point with her service, paris was seriously hilarious, the DJ tommy was very accommodating and played whatever music we asked for. raymond was so kind and rey helped with whatever we requested. you have a great group upstairs, keep up the good work, oh and jenny in the casino was also amazing, he hooked us up every time my husband played blackjack. id totally come back to barcelo just to have them as my staff among other things. i didn't like the wi-fi very spotty even when i bought it. better than nothing i guess. everyone was so kind and seriously is one happy island. cant wait to come back :) the lady in the spa was rude definitely made me not buy a massage. the late night entertainment was good, we made all our dinner reservations the day we arrived and everything was booked at 9 pm so we missed almost all the shows, that i didn't like at all. a very relaxing place, i cant wait to visit again :)

Room Tip: we where on the 4th floor ocean view and our friends had 3rd floor, we had a way better view than them :)

My wife and I stayed at the Barcelo Aruba in the Royal Club for 12 days in November, 2017. We went to Aruba for the sun, sand and, warm water and air (air temp during the day was in the mid to high 80s every day)...and to get away from the bits of snow that started to fall in Ontario Canada!
The beach is at least as good as the Grand Punta Cana beach in DR: probably better.The seas were warm and calm while we were there as the resort is on the west side of the island and protected from the prevailing east winds. The Royal Club bar at the beach hardly ever had line-ups and the bar staff did a great job of keeping us 'hydrated'. They even posted a framed sign with our family name under our personal palapa which we kept for the entire vacation. We walked the beach about 1 mile each way several times and when we got tired of the beach we often walked back along a 2 mile boardwalk closer to the several beach resorts on either side of Barcelo Aruba. Note that this boardwalk is also well lit in the evening for an occasional walk after dinner.
We had a standard suite on the 8th floor of the north tower: one of 3 floors assigned to Royal Club vacationers. The room was above average. It was well kept by the resort housekeeping staff who also provided a turndown service in the evening.
The restaurants are quite good although there is no steak restaurant per se. Most of the restaurants, however, do include steak on their menus. We particularly enjoyed the Italian restaurant and the seafood restaurant. The food at these restaurants was exceptional and the ambiance on their terraces was, well, under-the-stars romantic.
After dinner entertainment in the resort included a variety of shows by the dance troupe in the ballroom. These dancers are among the best I had seen anywhere.
The 9th floor Royal Club concierge staff (Sandra Steba in particular) made us feel at home and welcome right from the get-go. Hospitality here is a definite strength of this resort.
Across the street from the resorts is a pedestrian mall with a vast selection of restaurants, stores and entertainment. The Dutch island of Aruba gave us a strong sense of security that meant that we had no qualms in leaving the resort for extensive town and mall walkabouts.
While at the resort, we met many new friends ALL of whom are repeat customers at this resort - most for 10+ repeats! Given the good selection of other resorts within a mile of the Barcelo on the same beach, this says something very positve for this particular resort.
Chris and I are expecting to make this an annual 'pilgrimage'.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side of the north tower and north side of the south tower overlook the pool and the beach.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Barcelo Aruba at the Royal Club level. It was a great stay and we have already booked our return for next year. The suite was beautiful and they kept it clean and sand free at all times. It was great to have WiFi access all day and room service was great. The WiFi needs improvement but it was included in the Royal Level benefits. The food was very good, we only ate at the Royal Level restaurant twice during our stay. The buffets and speciality restaurants are really good, we liked the different options they offered. The Royal Club Beach Bar was the absolute best! They even made my husband a special drink. Drinks at the lobby bar were strong and this hotel does not skimp on the alcohol. The beach is gorgeous but it can be hard to find a palapa or shaded pool spot so get up early to secure your spot. It would be nice if they could reserve a palapa for Royal Club guests as they do for First Club. We loved hanging out by the pool there are coordinated activities and they also offer entertainment in the evening. I️ appreciated the attention and service we received at the Royal Club Level. The hotel is also in a great area where you can walk to shops, restaurants, dancing and nightlife options are not too far away. Overall, it was a wonderful time and we loved the time we spent at the Barcelo. We can’t wait for our return.
