I stayed in a Royal room on a top floor. The closet was spacious; the service impeccable; there were lilies everywhere that smelled amazing (in halls, near elevators, etc.). The location is very convenient to shopping. The food at the Royal was great. The Palms, not so much. They had gluten-free bread and muffins available, which was important to me. A few negatives...there was no HDTV (again, that may have changed). The tub has a very high ledge, so if you have trouble balancing, it could be dangerous. The noise from the pool area was easily heard in my room that faced the pool and ocean. You cannot see the ocean from the pool area. The only true, pure ocean-view rooms are the suites. The beach is very narrow. You can only get Kahlua (the liquor) at the Royal bar, which seemed very strange. Oh, and they had several bed-like lounges in the pool area that fill up quickly. Despite the rules, most folks would tie a towel or bag to one around 11pm to reserve for the next day. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but probably wouldn't stay there again.More
