Description: We are sorry to say that Uncle Roddys restaurant has been badly damaged due to Hurricane Irma that passed over the Island Sept 5th and 6th 2017 and will be closed until further notice . We are hoping for a speedy recovery for the island of Barbuda that was devastated by this hurricane .

We had originally planned to have dinner, but found ourselves in the area mid-afternoon on our way back to our anchored boat. We were very happy when they were able to accommodate a late lunch (they stayed beyond normal lunch hours for us). And what a lunch!! Lobster and a chilled bottle of reasonably priced white wine. The lobster was mixed with peppers and laid out in the shell. While this may have taken a bit away from the half lobster amount, the flavors made up for that decrease. This is an open air restaurant, so be aware that there will be bugs (we had flies buzzing around us at lunch) that will want to join you.

I'm not sure what everyone else experienced but in my opinion they have to do much better. We arrived as two couples, our waitress couldn't even tell us what the starter was, long story short it was a cheap salad that was repeated with our main! Lobster was small (only half) and Thermidor style (though the menu did not specify this) and highly over priced for what you get. The chicken was underwhelming and the fish cakes were suspect... really nothing memorable! I know this place is beloved and the owner was truly lovely, but they have to maintain a higher quality bar.

Fab food (amazing $40 huge lobster), great drinks ($25 for a nice bottle of wine) and perfect service (classy but relaxed)

This is about as authentic Caribbean food and surroundings you could wish for. Gorgeous location on a quiet beach. Tremendous food, we had lobster which was generous in size and beautifully cooked. Kelcina and her team were great hosts and there was a good mix of company to make it a memorable evening. Laid back vibe and good times. If you can, go there

We fell in love with Barbuda years ago and came back for 4 days this trip. We enjoyed a nearly private dinner at Uncle Roddy's and the food and ambience were spectacular! We got to chat quite a bit with the owner, and she is such a delight!!! Really knows her island, and clientelle and how to serve you! The only challenge was the 'No see-um bugs"! WOW they can be terrible on the beaches!! We chose the absolute wrong time of day to have dinner, at dusk, and were pretty much eaten alive. Special thanks for the owner, who brought out her special bug juice, and electronic bug deflectors to help keep them at bay. Even with the little bitty biters, the night was magical and highly recommend Uncle Roddy's!
