We where on a private tour we booked to spend a half day at the beach before our ship departed back to New York. There was a function happening on the main beach of the hotel but they did allow us to use a secluded part of the beach away from the hotel. We rented beach loungers and umbrellas for $50 U.S a couple, a bit pricey, but such is the cost in Bermuda
I had a lovely warm seafood salad for lunch at the hotels beach bar which was very delicious and a good size portion. It was a beautiful spot on the beach of Bermuda, the water was bath water warm, a bit windy, we still had a good couple of hours.

We went to sea breeze two Friday nights with my daughters and enjoyed the music, incredible food and live band, "The big chill"
This is amazing with the sea floodlit behind and the open air restaurant and bar. Staff were first class, food served in small multiple portions so there's something fur everyone.

This has to be one of the best places to spend a Friday night in the world.

What completed it is how friendly the locals and hotel guests are all dancing on the small area in front if the incredible music. Singer Cassie is as good as a pro, DJ felix carried on the music after 11pm when the band finished.

ELBOW BEACH…one of the best resorts I have ever experienced.

Elbow Beach is a legendary place; a massive yellow hotel leading down terraced slopes littered with bright cottages to a series of eateries and a stunning long, pure white beach. Once THE place for US honeymooners – my wife’s aunt and uncle went in the 50’s; my grandmother went there for hers in the 1920’s!

Sad to say, as Bermuda tourism faded from the 1990’s to now (there is a resurgence), the hotel owners could not afford to renovate the hotel so it is empty but for the magnificent lobby, billiards room and sundry shop. But they maintained the cottages, each a different color corresponding to a flower – several hues of blue and green.

As we walked down the terraced paths we were led to a row of six cabanas each with a clear line-of-site of the azure water. From our room, either from he front door or patio, it was three minutes to the eateries and beach.

Every cottage has a room that is a cross between a suite and a hotel room – large bathroom, king-sized bed, couch and desk leading to a porch overlooking the beach. Cleverly, every cottage has a view that stops the breath as it did last night when we went outside to the music of the tiny tree frogs as the moon cast diamonds on the water. The frogs own the night and not like the rumbling of a bullfrog or clacking of a cricket, but musical and soothing.

The service is fantastic and smiles abound. The beach was private and service fast and food delicious as you sit within feet of the surf under your umbrella.

If you save the money -- and clearly the large number of "baby-moons" we saw has young couples saving for this -- Elbow Beach is astoundingly relaxing and fun.

Room Tip: Closer to the beach on the terraces the better.

Elbow Beach, as you would expect, is right on the beach. There are cottages spread throughout the property, but all are just a short walk to the beach. Restaurants are also beachfront with vast ocean views.

I have read reviews up & down about this place before we made our reservation. Truth be told there are a few things that need a little attention. Not what some have eluded to.
We stayed about 1/2 way up the hill, therefore not on top of the Fri. night live entertainment, which was fantastic BTW and locals come all dressed up for the party.
The views from the balcony/patio of our room was fantastic, we bought cereal, bananas & fruit for breakfast @ Lindo's Market. Combined with the Nespresso coffee maker in the room we had wonderful restorative mornings. The hotel staff couldn't be more helpful and free water & soft drinks are available at all times.
The beach is just about the best one on the island and your umbrella & lounge chairs come with the room, fresh towels, chilled water and all with a smile from the beach staff.
The Kiskadee birds can be seen from the patios. We even spotted a somewhat rare Night Heron strolling the beach after dusk.
I suppose one could find a better hotel.... but not at that price or beach. I will return.

Side note: Some Sheikh or the like bought the main building. He is in a dispute with the government over building condos in the main edifice. No matter, the buildings with the wonderful rooms are on the grounds.

Room Tip: 1/2 way up the hill for quiet & sunrise views.
