Room - our moderate room with lighthouse view was spacious and clean upon our arrival. The view overlooked the Willow Stream Spa, lighthouse, golf course and to the left the ocean. We were very happy.
We had a leaking toilet and maintenance acted swiftly both times that it needed fixing.
House keeping were friendly and attentive.

Airport shuttle- $15 each way per person. Easy to book prior to our arrival via email with the hotel and upon our departure with concierge. Airport shuttle was about 35 minute journey. Driver upon our arrival told us about the history of the island and gave some good tips to help us enjoy our stay.

Hotel shuttle - this picks you up from outside the hotel and takes you to the beach, Waterlot inn, ferry, golf club and other places in the hotel grounds. Some of the drivers were rather abrupt when you asked them where they were heading. The hotel shuttle to the beach was quick and easy. There is a phone at the beach bus stop which you can use to request a shuttle back to hotel. The shuttle doesn't take you up to the lighthouse (even though it is one of the stops listed). It takes you to the base of the hill and the lighthouse is another 10-15 mins up a steep hill and narrow road with no pavements.

Beach- loungers, towels and umbrellas all ready for you. Even 'out of season' was busy by 10/11am. Beautiful beach. Can rent snorkel gear at the beach $15 for mask and snorkel / $25 mask, snorkel and flippers for the whole day. Cabana beach bar offered simple food (chicken strips, burgers, chips and gauc) and variety of drinks. Still hotel prices ($19 for fries and chicken strips) but enough for two to share for light lunch.
You can charge everything to your room so no need for cash if you stay on hotel beach.

You can get to horseshoe bar by using the hotel shuttle and waking through the black gate (ask anyone they will point it out). It is literally a 1 minute walk to horseshoe beach. There is a beach bar there which is cheaper than the hotel offering but we didn't use it.

Pool- beautiful views with palm trees surrounding you. Heated water. Hot tub. Kids pool with slide. Right next to Wickets burger bar and Wickets coffee bar. Lemon water and plain water offered for free around the pool. Sun beds plentiful and comfortable.

Restaurants- you can see individual restaurant reviews but on the whole there is a broad offering. We were disappointed that Newport had changed, Bacci was closed and Dock at Waterloo had closed without any advertisement of this on Fairmont's website. Nor were we told about it upon check in. That leaves Waterlot inn and Ocean club (v.v pricey!), Mediterra (v.pricey), Jasmine lounge (2 cocktails around $40) and Wickets (closes at 5). I would recommend venturing out to Gulf Stream, The Dining Room, Island Cuisine for some variety. But with taxi fares the price ends up the same as staying in the hotel.

Staff- friendly and helpful. Concierge were great at answering questions from getting the bus to book reservations to where to shop to anything else you can think of!

Shops - pricey shops in the hotel selling range of things from handbags to sandals and chocolate bars to magnets. There is no mini-mart or anything within walking distance to even get a soda or bottle of water from.

We would return to the Fairmont. Personally for us we just miss having range of other restaurants within walking distance. We loved the beach especially at sunset.

Our 10 night stay was very enjoyable overall in this high quality hotel. We stayed in a king de lux room with balcony and fabulous sea view. The room was large with sofa and desk included along with excellent storage space and double sink bathroom. This large hotel has everything you would expect and a wide range of restaurants offering good food throughout although the prices are on the high side. We did request a change of room due to noisey neighbours who enjoyed entertaining their friends . The hotel dealt with our request really well moving all our belongings for us . A bottle of champagne and apology card awaited us in our new room which we really appreciated. The hotel has a great beach club a 3 minute ride away on their own shuttle bus which runs every 8 minutes. The beach is beautiful and has a great bar and terrace where we enjoyed excellent rockfish and cocktails. Overall we would recommend the hotel highly to anyone looking for a luxury holiday

Dear Royston S,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent 10 night stay with us. It is a pleasure to read how much you enjoyed the room, balcony and sea view as well as the beach, bars and restaurants.

I was sorry to hear that you experienced a challenge with your neighboring room, but glad that this could be rectified without too much inconvenience to your stay.

I hope that we will see you again, should your travels end you in Bermuda.

Regards,
Sophie

Location is perfect with great activities on property and convenient access for sightseeing around Bermuda. The Fairmont Gold experience with friendly attentive staff and food/beverages provided in on floor lounge amke the stay special. We really enjoyed the golf and beach. Dinners at Waterlot and Ocean Club were memorable. We can't wait to go back.

Celebrated our birthdays at this beautiful island at this wonderful resort. Food options were very good; rooms were comfortable; and the overall experience was upscale. Staff was very responsive and friendly. Access to beautiful beeches; free ferry to Hamilton; on-site executive golf course ; etc made this an easy to love property.

Having just stayed at this fabulous hotel with our entire family for a reunion/golf trip, we are highly anticipating a return trip next month to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. Our first visit was 45 years ago on our honeymoon, to the newly opened Southampton Princess! We’ve reserved a full suite on the Gold level, and as Fairmont Presidents Club members, we receive all kinds of generous amenities. This is a wonderful facility for any and all of your vacation needs when visiting the fabulous island of Bermuda. This will be our 25th trip!
