We had a timeshare week to exchange and used it to stay at Club Barbados. We have stayed in Barbados a few times over the years and also enjoyed as a port of call on at least one cruise. We had previously stayed at this resort on our first visit to the island years ago. The facility is showing it's wear and tear. Our first room was on the right rear area of building where the dumpster and car traffic were heard. We had a number of problems with the safe not working properly. The room needed to have renovation as the bathroom cabinet and entry doors were worn. Since we attended the manager's cocktail hour, we had the opportunity to express our concern about the frequent problems with staff needing to attend to our safe and the noise making it difficult to sleep at night. Thank you Rodcliff Massiah for addressing our situation and placing us in another room that was much more renovated and not with heavy traffic.
Although there are only two restaurants, the one main restaurant changed their menus daily. Breakfast buffet was good with an cook to order station. Lunch was buffet and was okay but could have used a few other additions. Dinners were very good. Liquor was limited to generally once choice by type. Wine was generally good selection with white, red and rose'. We had stayed at Sandals Barbados for a day trip and the food and liquor were on par although significant difference with the facilities as one was significantly renovated and the other suites were brand new and beach expansive although quite windy and rugged water.. Some entertainment or local artists were at Club resort daily. Guests were predominantly from UK, Canada and with some U.S. Guests were very cordial and many had stayed at the Club for some time and man'y times before. Age group of guests would be primarily over age 45 but there were also some younger adults as well. They also offered some free water sports such as reef fishing although in a small boat with shared equipment for guests. As has been noted, there isn't a beach but a patch of area before the sea wall with some sand and loungers. Most of these were occupied early in the AM. There was more of a beach when we were there years ago but the storms and surge have taken a toll on what remains and the sea wall. Staff was very pleasant. Wi-fi was okay in the public areas. The spa is small and the therapist was very good. The sauna and steam room were not running as they need to be notified ahead of time if you plan to use them to turn them on. Unlike some other islands you will be more comfortable traveling about (although we didn't drive as they drive on left side). Buses exist although can be very crowded. There is a small shopping center across the street and a few miles down the road a Chattel village with shops and a few restaurants. Overall was a good vacation although they need to do some more extensive renovations in some of the rooms, facility and beachfront areas.

Travelled to the Club for the 8th time and this time with our grown up family and partners. Introduced them to the wonderful team. Loved our beachfront rooms and the food in sunset. Water skied and enjoyed the sunsets every night. Fab as ever.

We've stayed at The Club Barbados twice and had breakfast at the resort on several occasions. Each time has been nothing less than perfection. As locals on the island, it is very refreshing to experience genuinely friendly staff. I can truly say the resort has never let me down where this is concerned. During our last visit (Easter holiday), the hotel had lots of entertainment including an Easter egg hunt, Bingo, Cultural show with Tuk Band, Mother Sally, Stilt Walkers, a flag girl dressed in Kadooment costume and Shaggy Bears. If that wasn't impressive enough, there was also a limbo show with fire. The true spirit of Cropover was brought to the resort. Our room was beautiful, the water sports were fun as usual, drinks and food to die for. But all of these things can't compare to the staff. Thank you Janee, Geraldine, Richard, Saneta (bar). You were all wonderful! Until next time.

Still longing to go back one day..... hotel not the most modern but most of the staff make up for that!! Good home cooked food real Bajan style. Very relaxed... not the plushish place but thats part of its charm. And a what a fantastic island... is Collis still there?

Our stay at the Club Barbados was for the most part great. The resort is clean and food was good. The beach is a bit rocky on this side of the island so wear water shoes.

Loved that it was adults only. Staff was good for the most part there were instances where we felt they served clients of a specific race before they acknowledged our presence but once we spoke to the manager the issue was quickly resolved and we were taken well care of.

We stayed in a Superior oceanfront One Bedroom and it was everything to wake up to hear the sounds of the waves every morning. Worth every coin. If your knees are bad get a room on the ground, there are no elevators. Our daily housekeeper was the sweetest little lady ever.

Make sure you take at least one pair of casual shoes or dress shoes for dinner in the fine dining areas. Some areas don't allow the flip flops or ocean wear type shoes in the fine dining area.

Music was okay some nights and others it wasn't good. Better entertainment would be a plus.

Take the island tour it was everything. Also there are stores and shops on the street of the resort within walking distance. We were able to do our own little exploration without having to pay to go to everything, enjoyed the walks.

Room Tip: Get a oceanfront room....
