Not the Hilton. Who wants to stay in a hotel in Santo Domingo that is the she as hotels in Kansas City? Not me. Location is perfect- one block from the malecon and loafs of good restaurants and colmados. Friendly and very proficient staff, from desk to security to restaurant, all are delightful. Hot water good, WiFi good, upper floors in front (mine is 507) have panoramic view over lush canapé of city and sea. Breakfast included with a coffee drink, a juice and an entre (egg, sausage, mangu).Arrogant folks will be uncomfortable her
For the rest of us-- this hotel is a real find

This is a great last minute place to stay for a last minute trip. For around $65 night including breakfast you can't complain. Be sure to ask for a room in the back. The front is very noisy with traffic. The mopeds and truck horns at 6am is quite unwelcoming. Always parking and is directly behind the jaragua hotel.

Room Tip: In the back

If you need to do a quick business trip to the Capitol and looking for a last minute bargain hotel this is your best bet. Very clean, walking distance to restaurants and the Malecone area. Service is very friendly and the guy at the front desk speaks very good English. Complimentary breakfast is given next door at the restaurant. Rooms have been remodeled and are very clean. I recommend the rooms on the 5th and 6th floors (507, 508, 607, 608). Those are the hidden gems in the hotel. Very spacious and a nice view of the city and ocean. All rooms have been recently renovated and the linen on the bed is clean. It's a must try if you are on a budget. Pricing is very affordable compared to other pricing in the area, You definitely will get a bang for your buck staying here and if you need to go somewhere within the vincity taxi rides to the shopping mall or movie theaters are $7 to $10 at most. And up the street is one of the best restaurants on the water (Adrianna Tropical). Great place to walk to have lunch with a stunning view.

This is an ok hotel, but definitely not a 5 star by any stretch. The location is ok only a block away from the coast. It is central in Santo Domingo and close to the better hotels and a few casinos and night clubs.

The rooms are rustic...but this is the Colonial area of Santo Domingo, so most buildings are hundreds of years old! It has character.

The staff are not overly outgoing...but they do what they can to help.
