Ate here twice, first time was OK+ green mussels but with rice? second time thought we'd have something a little special so ordered lobster 64$ for 2 and a bottle of white wine from their wine list to buy. The wine was around £20, after around 15mins we were informed that they didn't have that particular wine but they had a Mapo white wine but it was warm. The waiter insisted that it would be ok in an ice bucket after 5mins, hmmm no thanks. The lobster was disappointing, very dry, (not even taken out of the shell and put back in) easier to eat, just done on the griddle and a little garlic butter poured over. They were not fresh lobster they were north Atlantic frozen imports, sad.

Good cooking. Tasted very good. restaurants at Cabarete are on the beach/sand area. Stray dogs running and barking around areas. Price for food is not of good value. One thinks that a restaurant that pays Dominican wages can provide a better value or greater quantity of food items. There were rooms for rent on the alley way leading to restaurant, very poor choice.

Although there was a free menu if you paid extra you could have lobster for $32 which was so lovely and you get 1 1/2lbs fish

We are made to feel at home immediately when greeted warmly by Francis. Service at El Pescador is always excellent.

The Lobster Bisque, Avocado and Shirmp Salad and the Calamari with Tartar Sauce are our preferred starters.

For the mains we've tried the Mahi Mahi in Champagne Sauce, Fish Stew, Linguini with Clams and found them to be terrific.

The house wine is nothing to write home about so we either bring our own or buy one from the wine list. Prices are reasonable compared to what we would pay at home for the same wine.

Be sure to reserve early and often for El Pescador. You won't be disappointed.

There are always good desserts on offer......chocolate cake, vanilla cake, creme caramel, ice cream, fruit salad and profiteroles.
