My husband and I have been to Punta Cana 8 or 9 times (I've lost count) and have stayed at many different resorts, our favorite being the Iberostar. We decided at the last minute that we needed a beach vacation and as always got on the Apple Vacation website for their 72 Hour Sale. For the price we paid for 7 nights at the Bavaro Princess I have to say it was THE GREATEST money we've ever spent! From check-in to check-out with Ceasar and Carlos our week was PERFECT. Carlos made sure we received a bottle of rum in our room (thanks for thinking we were honeymooners Carlos!!) and checked on us almost everyday when he spotted us at the pool or sitting at the lobby bar to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were having a good stay. Our room was huge with a jacuzzi tub, king bed, living room area and a beautiful balcony overlooking the lush and tropical grounds. Our room was right near the pool and beach (which was extremely convenient) and a nice leisurly walk to the lobby, main buffet and gym. We loved the ecological path where we fed the bunnies every morning after breakfast...who knew they love bread?

Yary, the head bartender at the pool bar made our week so much fun. What a great man, always with a smile and happy to make a "special drink" just for you! He always made sure our drinks had Brugal in them and not the basic rum....SOOOOO GOOOD!!

Reading some of the "not so nice" reviews....people complaining about how big the grounds were, they couldn't find their rooms, too far to walk from the beach to the lobby...our air conditioner was too cold (huh?) ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME??? The buildings are all numbered...there's a shuttle every 3 minutes that comes with a "DRIVER" that, when given a room number, will take you there! Walking in (and getting lost in) a beautiful, tropical paradise...OH NO! REALLY???

I was even surprised by the food...LOVED the Dominican buffet night...Omar got me to try a delicious Dominican dish (can't remember the name)...THANK YOU OMAR!!! The staff (especially the people preparing the food) are so appreciative when you go up to them and tell them how much you enjoyed the meal, or the drink or whatever...and maybe slip them a couple of bucks because I'm sure they don't make a lot of money. We even won in the casino which NEVER happens! LOVE THE MONEY BOOTH!

I will definitely return to this little piece of heaven...and I will bring a few freinds with me so they too can have the perfect vacation!

I traveled with my wife and 2 year old. This was our first time to Punta Cana and Bavaro Princess and we loved it!

The Good:
- Beautiful and very well maintained property
- Excellent staff
- Delicious and wide variety of food
- Beautiful and lively Beach
- Good night time entertainment

The Not So Good:
- Lot of smoking, especially in the lobby area (may be the same for other resorts?)
- Pushy people in the lobby trying to up sell. Not a big deal, a strong "No, Thank you" will do it.
- No clock in the room (this is just nitpicking now)

Other thoughts:
I had requested a room close to the beach, a month in advance but got exactly the opposite. Our room was the furthest away from the beach, close to the lobby. We got a honeymoon suite instead of the regular one, still don't know what that gets you other than a hot tub in the room. But the location turned out to be good since we had to go quite a few times to the main buffet for our son. The room was not the renovated one and could have been better in terms of decor but it was very clean nonetheless. My son had a great time at the nightly entertainment and just loved the peacocks running free. The gardeners would pick fresh coconuts from the tree and give it to us. It was great since our son loves to drink coconut water and it is a great way to stay hydrated there. Disregard any negative food comments in the reviews, there is something for everyone. Even extremely picky eaters should find some thing that they would enjoy. We did not have to wait in line for any restaurants and the few we tried were all very good. We tried para-sailing at the beach. It was a great experience to see miles of white sand beach from high up.

Overall:
We had a great vacation at Bavaro Princess and I would highly recommend this resort. The luxury it offers is enough to make your vacation a memorable one.

Tips:
- I would not go platinum because the money is not worth the upgrade IMHO. But to each his own so be the best judge for yourself.
- Not about the resort: If you are leaving PC over a weekend, make sure you get to the airport early. It is a madhouse there. We loved the airport when we arrived but hated it when we left because it could not accommodate the volume of people traveling. Even though it was open air, the place was stuffy.

Room Tip: I would not go platinum. Stay close to the lobby if you have young children.

This resort is a very nice resort despite what you hear from others. We had a family vacation and it was very nice. Everybody loved it especially the kids !!!!

We had the Platinum Section which was the best. Please have this section if you go to this hotel, you won't regret it.

ROOM: The room was huge and very close to the beach...we loved that. Because in the Platinum Section you have a kind bed and we were with our kids, I asked to have two double beds for the kids and when we arrived there were two beds for the kids and one king bed for us. WOW !!!! Unbelievable.... Very Nice....
In the room you have a flat screen. The channels didn't quiet work in the begining but my hysband called the front desk and in not even 5 minutes a "cable guy" came and fix it. What a service. The room was cleaned very well everyday...

FOOD : The à la carte restaurants are very good. I am going to let you know about the ones we've been to.
The El Gaucho (steak house) is excellent. We had T-bone steak and we loved it.
The food at the El Licey was EXCELLENT and Antonio (the same guy that is working at the beach buffet ) was great . We had such a beautiful service. There is no words for the food ...that how good it was. We hade salmon salad, filet mignon (which was so juicy and yummy) and the dessert was superb too. We also had expresoo . WOW !!!!
The seafood restaurant : El Pescador...WOW!!! My husband and I had lobster yummy yummy yummy and the kids had "mixed brochette" with different fishes... They loved it too.
The japanese restaurant (sorry I forgot the name) was nice too. My kids loved the show!!!! They even let us be the "chef" for a couples of minutes...very nice. We enjoy it !!!!! The food was great too.
The beach buffet El Gaucho is good...not much selection but you can always find something to eat...The main lobby buffet had much more varieties... They have a Crepes section too...yummy. Jasmin was very nice to us and she gave us a very good service. Always with a big smile on her face.

BEACH : The beach is breathless.... You can walk for hours. The colour is amazing !!!! The best of the best...!!!!!

MINI CLUB : My kids loved it.. Ana from the Mini club was AMAZING with the kids.Everyone loved her... She always has a big smile on her face and she is so gentle and nice with them. We love you Ana !!!!!! Keep up the great job you do with the kids.... You're the best!!!!
She also entarteins the Mini Disco which was fun for the kids and for us too.

THE BARS : The bars are good and especially the one in Platinum Section is great. The service is impeccable. Carlos made us nice drinks . He even came at our chairs to give us the drinks. What a service Carlos !!!!

THE POOL : We are beach people so we didn't stay at the pool...

The resort in general is Excellent.

The staff was fantastic....but big thanks to Ceasar & Carlos of Apple Vacations. In the U.S., most places you can check out of a hotel without visiting the front desk, not so here...you HAVE to check out with room keys and towels, a bit ridiculous. We learned this when we were about to get on the bus to the airport...we weren't getting on that bus without Carlos & Ceasar's help. The Bavaro wanted us to go back to our room and get the towels/room keys...we would have missed the bus and plane...Carlos and Ceasar to the rescue. We'll be back, and we will use Apple Vacations.
