While my husband and I had been to Club Med before, this was our first trip to Punta Cana and the first one with our two kids (7 and 3).

The accommodation was as expected for a Club Med resort - nothing fancy but clean and functional. We did have an issue with the first room assigned to us (strong musty smell) but the team was very helpful in moving us to a different room.

The highlight of the trip for us was the Kids Club. Service was impeccable and the GOs working there were not only professional but also very friendly and pleasant. As two busy working parents, it made a world of difference to be able to have some quiet time and knowing that the kids were being entertained in a trusted environment. Our oldest one is really into sports and there was plenty to keep him busy - including activities such as archery which was new to him. Our youngest one absolutely loved the pools - the main one is huge (and the water is nice and warm!) and the pools at the Kids Club are very well designed with slides. Our 3-year old also became a big fan of the kids show. She still talks about the shows - not to mention JuJu who's responsible for the Kids Club. He definitely has a special way with children!

Other than that, we were rather impressed with the food. You never know what to expect with all-inclusive buffets and, in this case, there was great variety daily and the quality was good. We loved the different fish/seafood options and the fresh coconut and mangoes were excellent. Service in the restaurants was also very good, especially at Samana.

As with most Club Med resorts, there were plenty of activities to keep the grown-ups busy as well (tennis, fitness classes, aquagym, latin dance lessons, circus school, volleyball, soccer etc.). However, we were very surprised that baseball was excluded - especially when you're in the Dominican Republic! And one comment that we had about the tennis courts is that the surface was kind of patched up in some places - not for all the courts but we did come across this issue a few times.

Overall though, Abdel and his entire team do a fabulous job at Club Med Punta Cana and we look forward to going back there. Our kids are still singing "C'est ca - Punta Cana!"...

Beautiful! Nature speaks by itself. Resort has two great open buffet restaurants. My favorite was Espaniola by the water. There is also one a la cart beach bar with great food. Night time: Shows, bar, dance if you are tired. Snorkeling, nature walk and Zumba was my personal favorites beside the FOOD and drinks unlimited! Friendly bar tenders. Infinity pool cis private but also welcoming for a visit, do not miss!

Room Tip: CORTEZ building, quiet with ocean view if you do not have to walk to kids club everyday

Club Med Punta Cana is in my opinion the best CM for "family" holidays - it was our second stay in Punta Cana (first in 2010). Under Abdel management (new Chief of the Village) service is spectacular - best-of-the-class. Especially the kids activities. Just amazing. Congratulations to Allyn,JuJu and all Mini Club Team.

My kids (5- & 10-years old boys) loves this place. Will we be back? Definitely

Dear LukaszWarsawPoland,
We can't wait to have you and your family back with us for another vacation! We're glad your stay was splendid. We try to make all our guests feel like they have a home away from home. We hope we have provided your family with that mentality.

A wonderful resort for adults and children. The camp is well run with a friendly staff offering an interesting and fun assortment of things to do. The campers can't wait to get there each morning. There is also a plethora of activities for adults .Those who prefer to relax on the comfortable chaises are offered drinks of any kind throughout

Our accommodations ,the meals and the grounds were beyond our expectations. We had never been to an all inclusive resort .Also the management and staff were available at all times.

We had a wonderful time and we highly recommend this Club Med in Punta Cana.

Club Med would be better served to disclose that this particular village is nearly exclusively French. Most of the English-speaking people we met were particularly surpised at the overwhelming number of French-speaking GMs and how the GOs cater to them almost exclusively. And although a generalization, it would be a stretch to describe the French GMs as friendly to those of us that did not speak their language.

That said, this was our second visit to this club and we had an enjoyable time. The four of us (myself, wife and two sons aged 16 and 13) are CM veterans - twice to this village and twice to Cancun. Comparing the two villages, we prefer Cancun - better food, better beaches, less French. However, we did have fun at Punta Cana. Both the beach and pool areas were fantastic. Yes, you do need to get up pretty early to reserve chairs - after 9am you are likely shut out. Tim the bartender was wonderful - very friendly and helpful. My wife has food allergies and the chef staff (Ivan, Jeff, Keron and Safi) bent over backwards to help her find things to eat. The GOs, while friendly and helpful, were fairly scarce. At Cancun, GOs seem to be everywhere and always interacting with GMs. Not here. The village was close to capacity, so this might explain that.

In summary we had a fun time but will likely not visit this village again. Ixtapa maybe???
