“Our BEST holiday yet!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2012

Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana , Feb 13-30,2012
We have enjoyed many all-inclusives, but this was by far the best yet. The size of the resort is just perfect, with all areas within easy walking distance. Our room was lovely with a 'courtyard' view on the 2nd floor, prepared twice a day, which was a treat. The first thing we look for in a resort is the 'Hobie cats', so we were happy they had 2 operational, and we sailed every chance we got. Our favorite hangout was with the fellas at the water sport area. We nicknamed the fun-loving and 'go the extra mile' guy Francois - the' Wild Corscan' and his sidekick 'Jaun Belly - who' - and JJ...along with all the water sport staff! They were always very accomodating to our constant requests. We had such great fun and laughs with them all. We miss them!

No wrist bands which felt good, no reservations needed for the fabulous al a cart dinners each night.
The service of the waiters, our favorite being 'The Rock' lookalike - Rameriz in all the restaurants and "Clemente" the 'Lous Armstrong look a like' at the Lobby bar made our evenings so fun!The gals always were so cheeful and genuinely attentive.

We are planning to go back next year..Beachs extraordinary of course, they are the top in the worlds

The Entertainment Team was very professionsal....I must say the circus team was as good as Cirque de Soleil ! Every evening their choices were so fun, some engaged the audience, All were top notch!
Staff were noticably friendly, funloving and felt very easy to make friends.
Perhaps the most notable treat for us was the MUSIC. The piped music throughout the resort was BEAUTIFUL! Never annoying thump thump continuously, but a nice range and style at different times of the day.

Room Tip: higher floor, nicer view...however, there is no elevators so that is good to know.

Dreams p.b. was a very nice, clean resort. The place was beautiful, the beach was big and beautiful. The people were super and went all out to make sure you were having a great time. There was always something to do if you wanted. If not, it was a great place to just relax and enjoy the sun. There were six adults and two children under 3 in our group. They were great with the kids, talking and playing with them even at the restaurants, very accommodating.

Room Tip: We had three beach front preferred club deluxe rooms, we were very satisfied with what the preferred...

Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana, DR: Feb. 14-21, 2012

My family (with 7yr. old) & I stayed at Dreams Palm Beach in the preferred section (thanks to my travel agency – NJTravel.com, we got a free upgrade!) of the resort, specifically room 4106 (ground floor). Overall, I thought this was resort was extremely nice and super clean. Therefore, allow me to tell you about our experience:

ROOMS:
I particularly liked the preferred section, it is quieter, close to the beach and it has its own pool/hot tub (even though the hot tub wasn’t really hot, just mostly “warm”), a top shelf bar with snacks and you can eat the Sea Grill for breakfast, lunch and dinner (the other guests can only eat there for dinner). Keep in mind that the resort does not have elevators. The room came with spa amenities, robes, slippers and a DVD player. The guest staying in the preferred section also get yellow towels, instead of blue towels. There is 24-hour room service and the rooms were spotless, they are made-up twice a day. I had no problem with the shower/water pressure. The nicest room of all is the Honeymoon suite; it has 2 separate rooms, 2 balconies and 1.5 baths. Next time, I will be staying there, for sure. Oh, the beds were super comfortable, as well.

BEACH:
The beach did have seaweed/sea grass when we were there, on windy days there was a bit more. The resort is on the Atlantic ocean, so that may be why. I am not sure if it is there in other months. They do clean it up, but it is still in the water. The water is crystal clean and has some fish in it (although I didn’t snorkel), I could see some. To use the water sports equipment (they want a $25 deposit). The sand is white powdery, like sugar. Oh, there is bar service at the beach too. I didn’t notice many people tipping, but when I was too lazy to get my own towels I did tip a few dollars. They also have these beach cabanas on the beach…you will have to get early to grab one of them, but they are so nice.

RESORT:
The resort has a great entertainment staff and you never feel funny joining in, even if you are by yourself, they make you feel welcomed. Most of the activities are at the main pool or the beach. The staff at the resort is friendly and is willing to help. Both pools were a bit cool (not heated), but once the sun came out, it was refreshing. There is bar service at the pool too. There are many activities at the resort, i.e. Bingo, Batting practice, Rum tasting, etc. When we stayed at the resort, it was at full capacity, but we never felt crowded. All the staff spoke English, but they do appreciate some Spanish, if you know any. There is also a casino there and some shopping. Oh, there is a vacation club, where they ask you to go to the Now Larimar to check it out. At first, they didn’t tell me what it was, but after I asked around it is a vacation club/timeshare. So, just be weary of that. Every day, there is a theme at the resort and a drink of the day. They give you a daily newsletter of events/activities. There is also a spa, I got the 50 min. aromatherapy massage ($85), very nice and there is a true hot tub in the spa that is hot.

KIDS STUFF:
They have the Explorer’s Club for children under 12 and that is where my child was most of the vacation. He loved it and he is a bit reserved too. They don’t make the kids participate in any activities, they have a choice of what they want to do…for ex. If they don’t want to build a sand castle, they don’t have too. If they don’t want to go to the beach, they can stay at the camp and play Wii. The Explorer’s Club staff (Awilda, Dayana and Astry) is very attentive. And since, the resort is not that large, you can see your child being escorted from the camp to the beach. My child actually cried when we came home and he only wants to go to Dreams from now on. There is a tween/teen club that has activities too.

RESTAURANTS:
There are about 7 restaurants there (buffet, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, French and Steak). The buffet has everything (including pizza and make your own pizza). If you can’t find something there to eat, then you must be on a diet. My favorite was the sugar donuts at the breakfast and at lunch they still have them and you can sprinkle chocolate on them, as well. Also, the cheese fries, yum, taste like Geno’s Steaks French fries in Phila. I also liked the French restaurant too, that is adults-only. Reservations are not required and I only had to wait once for about 15 mins. If you go before 7:15PM, you won’t wait, it gets crowded around 7:30PM and the wait starts to build up, they give you pagers to let you know when your table is ready.

Room Tip: No elevators. Preferred section is quieter. Try to use NJTravel.com to get a free upgrade.

Come to get married here at dreams palm beach on 22/02/12 with a group of 12 people and 3 children, the resort is great, entertainment staff are the best we have had from any resort, Franklin one of the entertainment team was really great through out the whole holiday with all of our family hence this review.

We would highly reccomend this resort to any one, loads of restaurants on site that open from 6pm, topped up mini bar every day and room maid service twice daily *****

Room Tip: We had a selection of rooms, including one with a whirlpool bath which was a free upgrade.
