Description: Located at the beautiful Eden Roc Beach Club, La Palapa restaurant opened in 2003, becoming the first restaurant opened at the Cap Cana residential resort. After experiencing an interesting renovation, La Palapa by Eden Roc, began operations in September 2010, under the management of Solaya Hotels & Resorts, a private firm dedicated to developing luxury hotel projects, which operates the Eden Roc Beach Club, a private beach club in Cap Cana. Solaya Hotels & Resorts' premier property is Eden Roc at Cap Cana, the first Relais & Chateaux property in the Dominican Republic.Immediately after its first renovation, the new La Palapa by Eden Roc fascinated visitors with its unique proposal of pastas, fresh sauces, homemade bread, fish and seafood. La Palapa by Eden Roc is ideal for those who enjoy the authentic cuisine, where each dish is perfectly executed incorporating fresh seasonal products, without losing the simplicity, in a casual, elegant and relaxed ambiance. La Palapa by Eden Roc is a place to enjoy the best cuisine and the beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea. The access to the restaurant La Palapa by Eden Roc is free to the general public. For weekends and special nights, we recommend booking a table in advance. The use of facilities Eden Roc Beach Club (beach, pool) is reserved for members or visitors who have purchased an access pass.

Great place for fresh fish and the pasta (what a surprise!) was outstanding! Plus, there is a resident sea turtle who came by to savor some of our fish scraps the 2 nights we ate there! FUN

First, we were surprised that the environment did not match its hype. We felt the tables on the terrace nearest the sea were a bit spare and not at all romantic. We ended up going back up a flight of stairs to a table in the room which houses the bar.

All set for a great evening, our family of five was greeted by an enthusiastic hostess who welcomed us warmly. We were promptly asked by beverage orders. After that, things slowed down dramatically. Our cocktails took almost thirty minutes to arrive and ordering the meal seemed forever. We thought the food was good, rather than great and we always had to flag someone down to order another beverage or fill a wine glass.
Service seemed quite pleased with itself, but its warmth could not make for our wait times and frequent disappearances.
Though we did not complain and it was nice that they gave us a complimentary bottle to have with our desserts. Most of the dishes just missed. My pasta and mixed seafood was flavorful and the shrimp in it were absolutely fresh, but the dish arrived almost room temperature. Lobster was just a bit overdone and a bit dry and stringy (as opposed to the lobster at Blue which was succulent). Good potential here!

Corner table with a privileged view of palm trees and the blue waters of the Dominican Republic. Seafood paella was well worth the short wait. Service was seamless with a genuine smile and great attitude. Strawberry, pineapple and mango sorbet was the perfect choice for dessert.
