Quick review with photos attached...VIP airport service was very nice. It is included when you stay in the Villas. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa upon arrival. That was a fantastic way to start our vacation! Traveled with young kids and spent most of the time at the beach or the club pool. Beds were comfy. Had 3 treatments at the spa. All were very enjoyable. Food was average. Not bad, but not great. Golf cart was a nice touch. Staff helpful. Don't miss the eco lagoon. We went there several times and the kids got the biggest kick getting to swim with the fish. This is the perfect spot if you want to relax with your family. No nightlife, but a beautiful setting. Very serene and exactly what we were looking for. Even on *crowded* days you would only see about 10 people. This isn't the kind of place where you have to get up early to reserve a chair. There are plenty....and many under your own palm tree :)
Cheers! And Happy Travels!!

Beautiful grounds, excellent service throughout. A beautiful beach and a huge property. Rent a golf cart to properly tour the whole place. The breakfast buffet was wonderful everyday. Beautiful golf course. Very worth the $35 to have them pick you up and walk you through immigration and customs (they own the airport) like you are a VIP.
The beaches run for miles and we had them practically to ourselves.
We had a junior suite which because it was low season, we were able to secure at their 40th Anniversary rate of $160/night, including breakfast buffet.
They have an ecological preserve with fresh water lagoons where you can swim and explore and a small village full of small restaurants, shopping and a bank. There is a shuttle which takes you there.
This is not a busy, party hotel. It is quiet, restful, with all amenities.
We'd go back tomorrow if we could.

Spent 4 nights 5 days in an Oceanfront One bedroom suite. Absolutely beautiful, enormous room. Extraordinary service throughout the hotel, but especially at Bamboo (which is the best restaurant in the resort). Fantastic beach. Great golf course. Truly outstanding.

My boyfriend and I picked Tortuga Bay after reading negative reviews of most of the other resorts in Punta Cana, and after seeing pictures of the gorgeous private beach. The VIP pick up service at the airport was really nice, and we were in our villa about 25 minutes after arrival, complete with chilled champagne. Our villa looked right out onto the beach and the view was amazing. The service was great, 5 star all around...room service, the concierge, spa, it was all top of the line. But of course there are a few things we felt could have been better....

You can't drink the water from the tap, and every day they give you 2 8oz bottles in the morning and 2 at night, but if you want more water than that you have to pay for it. I drink tons of water and I thought this was a little ridiculous, a 5 star resort can't provide free drinking water?
The bed in the room was really hard, uncomfortable, and squeaky..which also seemed strange for a 5 star place. The TV also had horrible acoustics since the room had 20 foot ceilings, so we never used it.

Despite those minor complaints, we would definitely go back. The beach is vast and empty and beautiful and they clean it twice a day. The food was pretty good except after a week the menu got a little old, more specials and menu changes would be appreciated. The staff was very professional and helpful and the personal golf cart is really fun We ended up eating all our meals at Bamboo, room service, and at the beach. The Punta Cana Resort side is not nearly as nice and we never wanted to eat there. If you are fair-skinned, bring lots of suscreen, hats, etc. I got badly burned the 2nd day and it was no fun. The sun is really intense there! This is a great place for couples and families, it's like paradise!

If you are considering going to Tortuga Bay, don't hesitate, run!!!! This place is amazing!!!! The resort is an expansive piece of property with a beautiful beach back drop. At times, my husband and I felt that we were the only people there. Absolutely now crowds - no breakfast or dinner lines, no nosiy children, no real bar scene and none of those rude people who leave their towels on the lounge chairs only to show up five hours later. The rooms and service are truly top notch and worthy of a Leading Hotel of the World. We were treated like royalty. Our last night there, the staff put romantic candles through our suite leading to a bubble bath in our jacuzzi on our balcony strewn with rose pettles. The room has several balconies all overlooking the beach. So quiet you could hear a pin drop. Each suite was located in a mini type of mansion set right up against the beach. One small drawback was that the food was mediocre, but to combat this, just go more often to Bamboo. This restaurant has excellent food for dinner as well as breakfast. I can't wait to go back and plan on making reservations shortly. I also want to credit the amazing and attentive staff who thought of everything and went 200% out of their way to make our vacation as romantic and memorable as possible. And boy this was a vacation I will never forget.
