We had a great time at Sans Souci. It is an unbelievably beautiful spot. The service overall was very good. Our room was a beachfront and it was comfortable. As others mention some refurbishing and updating is in order (building B), but it did not affect my enjoyment of the resort at all. We met many nice people which is easier at a smaller resort. Did the Dunn's River Falls excursion which was enjoyable until you get to the craft market, then you should run for your life. Recommend the ATV excursion up the mountain with Wilderness ATV tours. Made arrangements with the owner, Neil, and they were punctual and patient. The ride was fun, having never ridden one before. Great view of Ocho Rios from the top (beware, there are craft vendors up there too). If you can - go to the spa. Have a massage and a salt scrub. The location is amazing and the service was very good. Why I prefer Swept Away: you can eat a la carte all the time if you want, there are more restaurants to choose from, the beach is larger and you can walk it, there's no nude beach (I don't mind that it's there, but found those who partake like to talk about it - alot), I missed the martini bar). That said I would go back to Sans Souci and will continue to be loyal to the Couples brand.

Room Tip: We saw an ocean verandah (building D)and thought the verandah and the bathroom were nicer than the beachfront (building B). The beachfront has a sitting room which allows you to spread your things out more and has a jacuzzi in the bathroom, but it's too hot to have a bath anyway! Top floor and not near the stairs if possible. You will do more stair climbing if you are in a beachfront.

What can I say that has not already been said about this wonderful vacation resort.
This was our third time at CSS and it just gets better and better. The staff all remember you, on our first morning Kadyann saw us in the Palazinni and joined us for breakfast. Big Dom at the Bella Vista Bar, Albert in Casanova, Jhaneal at Sunset Beach and the friendly gardener on the way to Sunset Beach who always had a smile and the time to stop and talk, are just a few of the staff who immediately recognised us and welcomed us back home.
Met some old friends from previous visits and made some great new friends.
We really cannot find a single thing to complain about. Just love this place and plan to return again next year.

Room Tip: My wife has walking difficulties and from previous experience we find rooms in C Block most convenient as this is halfway down or up so provides easier access to beach level facilities as well as Casanova, Balloon Bar and nightly enetertainment.

Our stay was Jan 15 – 24, 2012. If you appreciate the beauty of nature in a secluded environment, Couples San Souci is for you. As many have said, you must see it with your own eyes to believe. We were very satisfied with our one- bedroom suite in G Block which had a large balcony furnished with a double-chaise and breakfast table. Although the room is quite dated (ours had the very small bathroom), the VIEW and location were SUPERB (I will add photos later). The walk from our room to the beachfront was quite interesting with many different paths to take.

We liked the food at all restaurants; our favorite lunch spot being the Beach Grill, literally a few steps away from the sea. The jerk pork and chicken is addictive. The food and drink service everywhere was attentive and given with a smile. We took advantage of the in-room continental breakfast, just hang the card on the door indicating your choices and delivery time. Casanova offers a very romantic setting outside and if you dine later you can watch the entertainment on the balloon bar level. We appreciated the invitation to the Repeaters dinner (stayed at Couples Negril in 08). It was a nice way to meet some behind-the-scenes staff. The entertainment at the beach party was outstanding and the Gala a spectacular event !

I must also commend the watersports team. Most resorts we’ve been to, the watersports staff “rolls their eyes” when you want to use the equipment. Not here. They were very accommodating whenever, and with whatever we wanted. Choose from kayaks, waterbikes, snorkeling trips, glass bottom boat, catamaran. Thank you Derron for a wild ride on the catamaran - it was a little “choppy” that day and I was thankful for his skilled sailing ability (and I enjoyed the soulful serenade as well)! Along with our new friends Jerry and Brenda, we had the pleasure of Derron’s company with Captain Christopher on the champagne boat cruise. Book this this at the watersports hut (extra fee). They took us along the coast showing us popular sites up close while we laughed and sang and drank champagne – it was marvelous!

We participated in other fun activities such as trivia with the lovely Katyanne (Sociable!)– and played croquet and table tennis with handsome Jermaine. We loved chatting with the employees about their personal lives. They were very patient and informative about our questions of Jamaica-related things . (thanks to Dominique for explaining cricket).

Many guests played tennis (heard good feedback about the pro) and participated in the exercise classes. It was nice to have a refreshing drink at the smoothie bar by the mineral pool where the atmosphere is quiet and the pool is invigorating! The hot tub near here is very private. Also , sunset beach is just beautiful and perfect for the au-natural setting, away from curious onlookers.

We’ve been to many AI resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean….Couples Resorts offers the best romantic experience and are truly all-inclusive, with Dunns River Falls, snorkeling etc. trips, and no extra $ for “preferred” levels required. Everyone we met, from newlyweds to silver-anniversaries, having a great time; we never heard one complaint. We all felt lucky to be spending our holiday in such a beautiful place! Thanks to the wonderful people we met and the excellent staff who have made this vacation one of our best! We know we will return to Couples San Souci.

Room Tip: A and B Beachfront bldgs are newer decor/bathroom and close to everything. G-block (one bedroom oceanview) for fantastic view, but you must navigate many stairs.

Wow. This trip to Couples San Souci was even better than our first visit in 2010. The last time we had a room on the beach in the A block and decided to try a room up in the hills this time. This was definitely the right decision for us. Our room E2 was huge! Easily the largest room we have ever had at an all-inclusive. A separate bedroom, a large living room with a wet-bar, a huge balcony with a 4-chaired table and 2 large loungers, and 2 bathrooms! Some people complain that the rooms need "updating" but I actually like the feel of an older but classy resort. This room has a very comfortable bed, good water pressure, fluffy towels, and 2 large flat screen tv's which are all of the modern conveniences that I need. And it was spotlessly clean, which is the most important thing of all.

We were lucky enough to arrive on the day of the anniversary gala. What a party! For those who have been to this resort, imagine all the various walkways lined with white tealight candles. It was so incredibly romantic and beautiful. I hope someone got some pictures of this to post on the website. And the food that night was out of this world! Our only reget is that we were tired from travelling that day and couldn't get to enjoy this wonderful party fully.

Because we are "repeaters", we received t-shirts and a $100 resort credit (amount depends on the number of previous nights). I think it is great that you can spend the resort credit in the gift shop. We spent ours on Blue Mountain coffee, sunscreen, and Couples San Souci clothing. Also, as a repeater, we took advantage of the day trip to Couples Tower Isle. It is only about a 5 minute bus ride between the 2 resorts. While we like San Souci better, I think we would also be happy at Tower Isle and plan to visit it again on our next trip to San Souci.

We liked that the breakfast and lunch buffets are open later than at other all-inclusives. You can have a hot breakfast until 10:30 am and the lunch buffet until 3:00 pm. This seemed to fit our schedule and we didn't feel rushed. I do wish there was another restaurant choice on the 2 evenings when there are buffet dinners (the Beach Party on Tuesday and the Starlight Gala on Friday). This is a minor complaint since you can order room service or eat an early (before 5 pm) sit-down dinner at the beach bar.

We love all the little "extras" that you get at this resort. Not many "all-inclusives" have computers that you can use free of charge. There is a decent selection of beers and you can get Vitamin Water at the bar by the mineral pool. Little things like those can make a big difference.

Can't wait to return to Couples San Souci!
