We have just spent 2 weeks in Jamaica and during this time we went on 3 trips with Marvyn's Tours. The first trip we were collected by Marvyn at our hotel and he took us to the blue hole - fantastic really pretty and really good fun and little T who was our guide for the falls was brilliant. We then went tubing on the river which was also fantastic, Dwight was our guide and he sung and talked to us while we floated down the river admiring the scenery. We then headed to Dunns River - a totally different experience but still really good and we are so glad we did not miss this. After that we went for some lunch at the jerk centre and then on to Oceans on the ridge for a fantastic view over Ocho Rios - we would have liked to have come back here to eat. After this we did a bit of shopping in Ocho Rios before Marvyn dropped us off at the hotel.
On our second trip we were accompanied by another couple and were collected by Delton who took us via fern gully to Kingston where he took us to a fruit and vegetable market and he showed us around whilst purchasing some goods - this was fantastic and a real example of true Jamaican lifestyle. We also went to Bob Marley Museum and from here up to the blue mountains were we took a 4WD up to a house right up in the blue mountains going past numerous coffee plantations. The 4WD journey was a really great experience - real off road. Up in the mountains we were awarded with amazing views and a late lunch. This trip was a long day but was a fantastic insight to Jamaican culture.
On our third trip we were collected by Delton and taken to Somerset Falls - these are fantastic and you can go by boat/canoe under the falls. From here we went to Port Antonio and on to the Rio Grande where we went rafting - the countryside was beautiful full of wildlife and so peaceful. After this went to Boston and to a jerk centre were we had lovely chicken and pork. After lunch Delton took as to a lovely resort so we could look around it. On the way back to the hotel we stopped for a photo at the blue lagoon which looked stunning. During the day we made a couple of stops at fruit stalls to sample some of the local fruit including Jack fruit and star apple that Delton then showed us how to eat - a real treat.
All our trips were fantastic and both Delton and Marvyn answered all our questions and gave us so much information about Jamaica and their cultures. We both had a fantastic time and are really happy we chose Marvyn for our trips and would certainly use him again when we return to Jamaica.
