The Caves is an intimate, quirky, unpretentious gem of a resort that allows its guests to feel completely at home. We stayed for four nights in Blue Dolphin (lower level ocean view) and were charmed from the moment we arrived. The entire staff is warm and welcoming and happy to help you, without ever being overly intrusive. The food was wonderful. Banana pancakes were a favorite. So was the jerk chicken and all seafood dishes we tried. Menu items are limited here but they change daily and none disappointed. The private sunning nooks, gorgeous water (cliff jumping was a rush) and the special cocktail of the day were just what we needed to unwind and decompress. Be aware that catamarans carrying guests from other resorts will occasionally drop anchor close to one of the caves in the late afternoon, but they don't stay long.
Get to know Paul and have him take you on a snorkeling tour around the caves. You won't regret it. We also booked a private cave dinner one night. What a memorable experience! A bit pricey, but for us it was worth it.
If you're looking for a huge party scene and a cookie cutter resort, this isn't for you. But if you're searching for tranquility, warm hospitality and a resort with a unique and friendly vibe, then welcome home to The Caves.More
