We were pleasantly surprised by this affordable, quaint accommodation that is very close to the airport. We had a rental car, and everything was fairly close, but keep in mind that parking can be a challenge, especially if you arrive during the day (lots of beach traffic). By the way, the views are amazing!!!

The pool and hot tub areas are very relaxing, and are a soothing spot after a day of exploring. Keep in mind that these areas aren’t available too late if you’re a night owl.

The staff was very personable, and special recognition goes to Marcos for his help in researching activities for us. He was on the spot for his recommendations, but the rest of the staff was very helpful as well.

Finally, the breakfast is no frills, so don’t expect a large spread, but it’s a good fuel stop to prepare you for the day. I recommend getting breakfast early, because things begin to run out if you wait too long.

Overall, I recommend Tres Palmas if you are looking for affordable accommodations that are central to a lot of what Puerto Rico has to offer.

Rooms where small but clean. Friendly and helpful staff. There was a sitting area out front that was beautiful but to close to the bedrooms. We were asked to be quiet as we sat outdoors enjoying the evening breeze by the ocean. The pool was very small. Hot tub looked nice but was not hot. Great location. We were close to airport and the cruise port. Very nice place for a short stay before cruise.

Loved staying right across the street from the ocean! Guest house feel added to the charm. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Our room was tiny but clean and opened out to a winding open air corridor that led to a pool surrounded by seating areas in both sun and shade. Up a flight of stairs and there was a rooftop patio, again with cozy seating areas in the sun and also shaded. Around the side was the breakfast area with lots of tables. The breakfast selection was just right: cereal, hard boiled eggs, a variety of breads, cheese, ham and bananas. The orange juice tasted fresh squeezed. The best part was the homemade guava and strawberry paste - like jam but better! And homemade cake...kind of a light version of pound cake with either guava or strawberry drizzle or amazing corn bread. There was a hammock in the front yard with a bunch of lawn chairs. Around the next turn, another seating area with outdoor cushioned couches. A limited supply of beach chairs, lawn chairs and coolers were available, first come first served. It was a five minute walk one way to a beautiful clean public beach and ten minutes the other way to a grocery store and the delicious Blue Burger restaurant. Would totally go back tomorrow!

My husband, son and I stayed in the rooftop room overlooking the ocean. The room is clean and provides a spectacular view of the Atlantic. The hot tub is also up on the roof along with several nice seating options to enjoy the breeze. The staff of Tres Palmas was great. There is a nice continental breakfast outside, and they provided towels and chairs for the beach which is right across the street.

My husband and I stayed here a few nights while in San Juan. The building is old but you are in San Juan and it is going to be if you don't stay in a chain hotel. We wanted to stay in something with the Puerto Rican culture and this place did. It had a nice terrace that over looks the ocean and they serve a small breakfast and we enjoyed dining and looking at the ocean. The rooms are dated and quite small but you have all you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean and the air worked well. If your picky and are expecting the Hilton you won't be satisfied. If you want a nice place that is across from the beach and a reasonable price it will suit you. There are some restaurants within walking distance and a grocery also less than a half mile.

Room tip: We had a room in the back near the pool and it was quiet.
