We ate here for our anniversary dinner on 6/19. The ambiance of this restaurant is very warm and romantic. My filet was perfectly prepared with heavenly side dishes , as was my boyfriends shank. Beautiful presentations of food!

This restaurant is tucked away on a side street and is part of the Olives boutique hotel. The restaurant is small and intimate and has rustic charm. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and every one of her recommendations was incredible. She even grew the daikon radishes that topped my entree. We loved everything we ate. Side note - someone at the table should order the filet...it literally melts in your mouth.

I highly suggest this restaurant!!!

This place is so cold. The hostess without a smile look at us like what are you doing here.? The server without suggestion and the chef looking didn't take care of the tables with only three tables. Good food but pricey and to simple.

Dear @fournierSanJuan,
We are so sorry to hear about your experience at Oliva. We pride ourselves in excellent service and believe our decor to be cozy and quaint. The cuisine by Chef Nicolas Gomez is eclectic Mediterranean and has been praised by guests and award-winning publications. We are sorry it was not up to your standards. Thank you for your visit and we hope you can give us another try in the future.

I arrived to dinner with a local business colleague and we asked the hostess if we could go to the rooftop bar for a drink first before having dinner. "Of course" was the response but when we arrived we walked to the bar and were then chased by the host who was not present when we stepped off the elevator and we were told it was a "private membership" club although there were only 3 people there. It left a very bad taste to the evening. We decided to stay for dinner anyway and the meal was actually quite good and the decor was very eclectic and well done. If not for the unfortunate rooftop experience, it would have been a perfect evening.

Dear Miami2London, our restaurant Oliva is independently owned from the hotel. We do not administer the hotel nor do we manage the rooftop. We are so sorry you were unable to have drinks at the rooftop but are pleased to hear that you had a great experience at the restaurant, enjoying the food and the eclectic decor. If you ever return to the Island and wish to make a reservation for the rooftop, please email us at olivarestpr@gmail.com in advance and we will do our best to arrange drinks on the rooftop with the hotel administrator. Thanks again for your visit!

Had an absolutely wonderful meal here as our final evening in San Juan - a chef friend of mine recommended that we check it out, and since we were staying nearby, we decided to give it a try.

It was a quiet evening in the restaurant - we were the only ones there for most of our dinner, and our server, Karleen, provided excellent suggestions (she recommended the shrimp appetizer and WOW! Believe what the woman says - she won't steer you wrong). Dishes were innovative and beautifully presented; the chef is truly talented.

It's on a tiny side street and easy to miss, especially if you're not familiar with the hotel, but it's worth the trek. Amazing!
