Before all well located, close to everything. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Know that the lobby is on the second floor, you need to carry your bags up, there is no elevator. Rooms are a bit worn down, but clean and spacious. Bathroom is small compared to the room. Loved the high ceilings in the room. Bedding is good. No TV, A/C works fine and is not noisy. No restaurant, you need to go out for breakfast but you find what you need nearby. In this price range, I was happy with this hotel

This hotel is great. Location is amazing. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean. Price is very good. The building is old so there is a lot of charm and some quirks like no elevator. I plan on staying here again!

We thought it would be nice to stay in Old San Juan and we did enjoy being able to walk to the restaurant strip. Entrance to Da House is through a side alley, not on the main road, and lobby is on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator and staff only reluctantly helped us with our luggage though we are both disabled. AC was broken, deadbolt to room was broken, phone was broken, no screens on windows, shower was either hot or cold but not warm for more than 10 seconds, loud street noise well into the night. We did wake up to nice singing Sunday morning from the church across the alley and the rest of the staff was nice when we left. We cancelled the rest of our stay that was scheduled for two days post cruise.

Stayed here for 2 week nights. The area was quiet and the staff are all artists and were great at telling great stories. Everything was exactly as advertised. Nice restaurant across the street. I love the windows and old tile floors.

Room Tip: I think it is worth it to have the window to the street

I blew it by trusting a call to this hotel prior to going to San Juan.Three reviews showed they are a bad choice to stay at in Puerto Rico. The power is still off at this place. They run a generator for a few hours a day. They run it to clean the rooms in the morning and for all the check ins for the evening. Then the generator is OFF until next morning. I booked through Expedia. They have not been able to secure the refund that was promised by the owner/ female manager.
I called prior to our flight to San Juan the fellow assured me that all was fine and no problems. Trusting this line of B.S. was a huge mistake!
The hotel is old and smells of mold! The rooms have no exterior windows that are not broken.Much damage is still evident!
We checked in and five minutes after getting into the room ....the generator was turned off. We could not see anything it was pitch black in the room. The energy for electricity is under ground for this area. It has not been restored after the hurricanes!!!
The owner lady promised a 40 dollar refund of the five times for the price we paid.
She has promised many people to do that and has not fulfilled the promise to anyone! This property is very old and run down. The mgmnt does not care that they CAN NOT provide proper service to their guests.
Please learn from our mistake, DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!!!!!!!! We were there January 6th prior to a cruise. This problem should not be YOURS ALSO!

Room Tip: Best choice....DO NOT book this hotel. Go to a big name chain in San Juan for successful stay!!!!!
