Owner description: On the 6th of September the BVI's were hit by hurricane Irma, a huge storm that decimated the islands. Blue Water Divers suffered a huge amount of damage, we completely lost our storm at West End. At Nanny Cay we lost part of the roof on the dive centre, our tank room collapsed, and our store room blew away. Out of our 4 dive boats, two sunk, but we are delighted to say that as of this week, 18th December we are fully operational at Nanny Cay, and we are out diving. We look forward to taking you diving again, so please come and see us soon.

I had lots of fun diving with blue water divers. I have never scuba dived before and I felt very comfortable diving with them. My dad and I went out with two other certified divers and Caroline and Spike as our guides. They were both extremely helpful and friendly. While Caroline and the other two experienced divers went on a dive, Spike took my dad and me to a shallow roped off area where we could learn all the basics of scuba diving. Then we went on a dive with the rest of the group. My dad decided it just wasn't for him, so it was like I had a personal scuba instructor. It was a lot of fun going on the dive and definitely something I would do again. The boat was very organized. If you plan to go scuba diving, Blue Water Divers is the place to go with!

We had three dives with Blue Water Divers and five dives with another outfit on the island and the difference between the two were HUGE. While Blue Water had friendly and experienced divemasters and boat captains we found their outfit to be disorganized and chaotic on and off the boat. I would not say safety is their top priority while in the water. Equipment was not well cared for nor were their boats however their dive rates are probably the most reasonable on the island. If you are an experienced diver then I would have no problem advising using Blue Water Divers. However, for a novice (as we were) we found ourselves with an uneasy or uncomfortable opinion of the outfit for both our daytime dives and most certainly our one night dive. We did enjoy our diving experience while in the water however their lack of organization and safety standards could certainly use improvement. We did not feel their staff in the office was friendly or helpful in arranging our dives. It is unlikely that we would use Blue Water Divers again.
