We are sailors, but we ended up stranded at Peter Island during a major storm in Aug. 2017 for 5 days, the first three because of the storm, the last two because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Much of that had to do with the quality of the meals. The Tradewinds provided first class meals throughout the day. Breakfast buffets were amazing and the dinners, especially their buffets, were definitely worthy of one of the top rated resorts in the world.

We view the Tradewinds as the primary restaurant. It is open daily for breakfast and on alternate nights for dinner. Be sure to try Jean Kelly's Coconut crusted French toast.

Made a stop at Peter Island for the day on our catamaran. We hooked up to a mooring ball in their marina--careful it's pretty shallow. We went to the restaurant for drinks and lunch. All were excellent and the view is spectacular. Most in our group got the burger and the Mahi Mahi tacos and both great. Many good comments on the Raspberry Mojito also.

It was cloudy that day, so we took a walk up the hill after lunch. The route we took was about 15 minutes (not the 5 mile trek marked on the signs). Great view from there--highly recommend for photos.

The restaurant has a "captured audience" so to speak. At night, it is the only place to obtain a meal unless you brought your own. The wine list is very good. The food was prepared well. It took a little bit to come out AND we were a large party. My group as a whole was not enamored about the selections nor the quality of the food. The waitress was fair but the maitre d' was very good; however, he struggled to keep up with all the tables because he helped with the service and wine. Overall, the meal disturbed my 4 star rating of the whole resort and one of the reasons I could not rate the resort higher. There is really no other good selection at night.
