Owner description: See the ruins of this church, otherwise known as St. Mark’s Chapel of Ease. Slaves and free men could once worship here together.

This is a nicely restored church (even if it doesn't have a roof) that has a great history of being the church where the freed slaves would go to find food and clothing . The congregation would also find jobs for them on the island. The stone work on this church is worth noting also.

Walked from Oualie beach early in a morning while it was cool to visit this church. Well kept and interesting part of history. Cottle was a good person on Nevis and built this church for his family and the families of slaves. He worked to free slaves and employ them if they wished on a salary . Would be good if it was totally restored.

A bit out of the way but very accessible by a decent road up towards the hotel. There is a pavilion in the corner with much literature and the essential story.

This is a very neat stop on a tour of Nevis and is worth a couple minutes of your time. The gate was locked when I was there and I'm not sure if it ever gets opened. Either way, it is a cool stop.
