Visited January 7-12, 2018 after experiencing the beach over the past two years. I was worried about visiting since last year one villa owner took it upon himself to install a locked gate preventing public access. While visiting the beach this past week I was approached by a Turks Conservation Officer asking about my experience and him confirming that the beach was for public use and that the locked gate was torn down by the government at the beginning of Jan 2018. Officer also confirmed that the parting on the street was not a problem and that the government required parking for beach access. No that the gate is gone don't hesitate looking for and spending time at this wonderful place.

Visited just yesterday (1/14/2018) and the gate is open. Directions for how we found it below.

Our favorite beach by far. Mostly empty due to the difficulty of finding it. So shallow you can walk out for what felt like ages and still only have the water come up to your waist. Really just an all around lovely place. Go before the developers figure out how to restrict beach access again.

To get there: Drive down Chalk Sound Drive. Turn onto Ocean Point Drive. It will say private at the start of the street, ignore that. About halfway down the street you will see cars parked on either side of the street. That's how you know you're there. We parked there with no problem. The entrance is on the right, past the sign for Villa Bari, which is the development of three identical white villas. Look for the place where it was obvious a gate use to be. You won't be able to see the beach from the opening, but a few short steps down you will. Trust me. Worth it.

This to my mind is the most beautiful beach on the Island, unfortunately it has been closed to public access for the past year, because a fence & gate had been erected to block the access, this gate it turns out was erected illegally, and was not approved by the planning authority.
Due to government intervention the gate has now been removed, and the beach is open to the public.
It is a little difficult to find, but well worth the effort!

Stunning beach on the South side of Providenciales . It is actually really hard to find and , unfortunately, it seems that it became private. Always very peaceful and calm. With low tide you can walk and sit on the sand bars. We really loved it.

bars. We loved it.

We knew that we needed directions, but still weren't sure where to get in. The story we got from a local is that there is a gate that was put across the entrance by a homeowner, but it is suppose to be unlocked. Look for the yellow wall at Sunset Hills & then find the walkway to walk to the beach...but we didn't find our way in.
