There were just a few places open before 11 that we could find. I'm so glad we stopped in before heading to the crazy airport (which has 1 restaurant that was super packed). Breakfast was pretty standard but had both grits and potatoes. Cool place and good service.

Gladys' Cafe features authentic Carribean food. If you are squeamish about seeing a whole fish head on your platter then it's probably not the place for you. She also sells her homemade hot sauce in 4 different flavors for $7 per bottle. Must try the curry chicken entree, it was super good. They also have a very yummy stuffed avocado salad, stuffed with your choice of Tuna, Crab or Lobster ($23 for the lobster). Huge iced teas and homemade fruit punch or lemonade. Down a little alley right on the main strip, I went twice in my 11 day trip.

Great drinks, terrific roti, and a welcoming hostess in Gladys. My family loved this little unassuming restaurant tucked away in a little street near the waterfront. All of this and reasonable prices too!

This restaurant was recommended to me by two locals so I decided to try it out. One of the locals suggested I try the whole ole-wife fish dish. I got it pan-fried. Once the dish came out the presentation was not what I expected must have missed the description of the tomato sauce drenching the whole fish. This sauce made the pan fried fish soggy. I was disappointed with this dish just was not good, no season just bland. I would not recommend this dish was not flavorful. For the price of $24 you would think this meal would have been better prepared. Not saying I would not recommend anyone to the restaurant but may need to read the description of the meal carefully or just ask questions prior to ordering.

Very nice place with friendly staff. The food was very tasteful, and they have some sauces that taste very good.

Also they have jazz standard playing in the back.
