You can’t ask for a more beautiful setting than Marriott's Frenchman's Cove. Just about every room that I saw has an ocean front view of the harbor in St Thomas. We stayed with friends in a two-bedroom unit that had all of the amenities you would expect from a Marriott.

If you choose not to rent a car, or even if you do, I would recommend taking advantage of their on-site water taxi to get to and from Charlotte Amalie. It is reasonably priced and runs about every half hour all day until about 5:30 PM. This will save you having to try to park in the town, which is difficult.

We have been returning to this resort for four years. Great rooms, good food, and the best BBCs on the island! Staff is accommodating and friendly, rooms are nicely decorated and very soundproof when the band's a-rockin' and you just want a quiet night in.

Room Tip: All of the rooms at this resort face the ocean, they are all nice.

Check in was a breeze. we got there after five so the room was ready, clean and had plenty of room, towels and a great view. Elevators were slow but not a major factor. Always chairs and unbrellas at the pool and beach. Beach was rocky and not very good. Pool was awsome. Some kids but not too many and they were well behaved. Great entertainment was really good especially friday and wednesday the live band.Staff was good and attentive, really don't understand any of the complaints in previous reviews. Overall a very good vacation.

Room Tip: Cabs are expensive but so are car rentals. there is a water taxi to town and if you are only going out two or three nights the cabs would be a better choice.

Me & My Daughter-In-Law went to St. Thomas and stayed at the Marriott's Frenchman's Cove in February. It was beautiful and we had such a great time, instead of spending her first year anniversary with my Son, she spent it with me. Lol We drank, ate, swam and layed in the Sun, it was a great trip. The Hotel was clean and the staff made you feel like family!! I am hoping to go back soon with my whole family. Great first trip with My Daughter-In-Law (Jasmine). Hope we have many more.

Karmen Brown

Room Tip: Ocean view was the best.

We recently returned from our second visit to the Marriott Frenchman's Cove in St. Thomas and we enjoyed this visit even more than the first. The villas are nice, comfortable beds, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, nice furniture. The 2 bedroom unit has a balcony off of both bedrooms, one with a table and chairs and a smaller one with 2 chairs. The staff is excellent and the service is great. We had an issue with our dishwasher and someone was there to fix it within 30 minutes of our call to report it, a part was needed, but they still had it fixed before we were back from the beach that same day. During our last visit to this property, we mainly went to the neighboring Morningstar beach because we had read poor reviews of the Cove Evening Star beach, but this time, we stayed at the Cove beach and really enjoyed it. It is small, but very nice, not crowded, and there is a water trampoline and a floating iceberg/slide in the water. The main attraction for our children is the water slide at the pool. It is just perfect for them, they could have spent the entire week sliding and plenty of adults enjoy the slide as well. You can take the shuttle to the Frenchman's Reef (which we did for dessert one night) or to the Morningstar property, both have restaurants. We took the shopping ferry to town one afternoon which was fun, but make sure you don't go too late, downtown shuts down around 5:30-6 PM, but we did have a nice dinner at the Green House Restaurant and took a taxi back. The restaurant at the Cove is good, but expensive and pretty slow, but when you're on vacation, it isn't a big deal. The drinks are great and there are 2 happy hours, which was awesome, 4 to 6 and 8:30 to 9:30. You can really save on drinks that ways! Smoothies for the kids are included in happy hour too - 2 for 1!
We stayed in the Tortola building this visit, which I highly recommend. We were able to get to the pool without any elevators (a huge upgrade from the three elevator ride from the St. John building - although even that isn't too bad). There is an adventure center, where you can sign up for snorkel trips and night time LED kayak trips. The location is great, we spent time at the Cove, but also took the ferry to St. John, and other beaches on St. Thomas including Sapphire Beach and Hull Bay. There is great snorkeling all over St. Thomas and St. John. Another great thing about this property is the awesome view of the cruise ships going by, they are really fun to watch. This is a really beautiful and wonderful island and the Frenchman's Cove is a top notch place to stay. I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Avoid St. John building if you can - it will eliminate at least one elevator ride. All rooms have a good view.
