Just what I wanted from a Bahamian snorkelling trip, small boat, small group (6 in total) wonderful fish, despite only managing to visit one site due to choppy seas. Mark was friendly, calm and confident, boat ride was fun (waves again) but never worrisome and short enough (20 mins) not to be uncomfortable. Good value for money and very welcome bottle of chilled water (or soda) on getting back in the boat. We loved the trip, thanks to Mark and blue hole water sports.

The excellence started before we ever arrived with prompt emails and phone calls confirming our needs and wants. Kathy was friendly and professional. It was an easy stroll from the cruise terminal to the hotel. The directions we were given were easy to follow. Basal met us on the pier and he was so very friendly and kind. He took us to a beautiful, relatively calm area with great coral and lots of fish. There were only 6 on our excursion. It was leisurely and relaxed. It was a perfect first snorkeling experience for our niece.

Excellent experience snorkeling with Captain Mark and First Mate Dane. Things you might want to know are: The boat is a smaller boat. 6 of us purchased the excursion (Captain Mark and 1st mate Dane, made a total of 8) and it was comfortable. The low number of people make it feel much more up close and personal and less touristy. I liked that since Nassau is very touristy. On the flip side, the boat does not feel all smooth like your cruise ship when the water gets a little rough. I loved it, but it did frighten one of the other passengers until Mark got us out of the more open waters (which he was very mindful of doing, quickly). If you're looking for "on Golden Pond", the trip might not be for you. The other thing is, you need to be in a reasonable amount of shape to get out of the boat using a ladder that drops down at the back of the boat. You certainly don't have to be super(wo)man either. If you can climb out of a pool with a ladder on the side, you'll be fine. First mate Dane (maybe 13 - 15 years old) snorkeled with us. He's def. a water acrobat and a very conscientious young man. It was just nice. The fish were beautiful.........like swimming in a big saltwater fish tank with all the brightly colored fishes in the ocean. Thanks guys! You're top notch!

My husband and I went on this with our two grandchildren who had never snorkeled. It was a great experience and the other four people on the boat were delightful! Before we went, I asked other readers if they knew how difficult it was to get in the boat, but didn't receive an answer before we went. I would like to caution people that if you cannot get yourself out of a pool at the side, you will have great difficulty getting back into the boat. There is no ladder as such and you must have quite a bit of strength to get up out of the water and into the boat. Thank heaven Basil is a very strong man and was able to pull me into the boat. I may still be swimming in the Caribbean! He was very good with all of us and took us on a nice tour of the harbor on the way back. The location was great - you can stop into the Hilton and use the rest room before you go and after you return. I would recommend Blue Hole, but beware if you need a ladder to get back in!

Mark was our captain and Dane was his assistant for our fantastic snorkeling adventure in the Bahamas. We have stayed at the British Hilton before in Nassau, but it was February and we didn't want to stay too long in the water. So we waited to use Blue Hole when our cruise ship was in Nassau for port in July and organized the snorkel through email with Kathy, who is wonderful. There were only 3 people snorkeling on the boat including my husband and myself. We went to 2 places Pearl Island and Sea Gardens. It was beautiful and we have snorkeled at least 20 times in the Caribbean to Hawaii. Very top notch private service at a reasonable price. We will bring our kids next time.
