We made this trip to simply relax and Bell Channel Inn was perfect. Situated at the end of a channel, it only has 42 rooms, which are large old-Bahama style with tile floors. Location is quiet, but it is just a 5 minute drive to the other side of the channel and Port Lucaya which has shops, restaurants and local entertainment in Market Square. The 3rd generation owners and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Inn includes a pool and large deck, dive boat that can be chartered and on the top floor has On the Bay which is a bar and restaurant. The food is very good; staff and service are great. We will definitely stay here again. This is not a luxury hotel, but if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place at a reasonable price, this is it.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the pool level. Our door opened right on the deck and the view was good. There are 2 fl...

Dear Margaret,
Thank you for your kind words!
We are all delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us!
We take great pride in providing our guests with amazing service, so all you have to do is just kick back and relax, either in your room, by the pool or in our "No Stress Zone" in the restaurant, where you can enjoy fantastic food, awesome service and a beautiful view, while talking to some of the locals or listening to some Bahamian music.
Thank you once again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Best regards,
Susie

This is a great little hotel. The room was older, but it was clean and the staff is super friendly. There is no timeshare lecture or hard sell on trip packages (but you can sign up for whatever you would like to do in the lobby and Genie is extremely friendly and not at all pushy about it).

The best part is that they have their own dive boat parked at their dock. My wife and I snuck out for a quick two tank dive and the visibility was on par with Cozumel. There were only four divers on the boat, so it made the experience much more personal and enjoyable. The best part was that we were the only dive boat at the reefs! What a gem of a place.

It is in walking distance to Port Lucaya and all of the tourist restaurants and little shops, or you can get a rental car (we did) and enjoy the rest of what the island has to offer. The Grand Bahama Shipyard is about a 30 minute trip if you have your own car; the airport is about 20 minutes. There is a grocery 5 minutes away if you don't want to eat out every night (this is what we did once we realized how expensive everything is... hey, it is an island).

Our room had a door on one side and a sliding glass door on the opposite for cool breezes blowing through. the rooms were roomy and had a nice deck with a view of the canals. A restaurant is on site that is adequate, and a bar with reasonable prices. The concierge, is knowledgeable and thorough, striving to save you money as well as guide you to events in the area. There were a few lights out and little things that really did not affect our stay there.

Room Tip: We choose the top floor as there is a nice pool that could be noisy if children were about.
