Four of us (three divers, one snorkeler) stayed for a week at The Bell Channel Inn. The staff are amazingly friendly, helpful--from the plumber to the waitresses, the housekeepers, front desk people and the dive operation (Caribbean Divers). We did, as they advertised, feel like family or beloved guests. Although the inn is not fancy or a 4* it is clean, the rooms are spacious and views from some rooms are wonderful.
The concierge Genie was fabulous, suggesting many options for exploration. We had a wonderfully informative island tour with Michael and learned about the history, culture, environment and contemporary issues.
The dive operation--Caribbean Divers-was small, on a fishing boat, but Presley, the boat captain and Gerry, the dive master, were the best. Both were so safety conscious and very clear in their directions. Gerry has every characteristic desired to be a good dive master--patient, knowledgeable about the gear, currents, dive sites, and he quickly assesses his divers for their abilities or lack thereof. Presley taught him well and runs a tight ship.More
