Room was clean, just needs a little maintenance/updating especially in bathrooms. Since we didn't spend much time in the room it was fine. Bed was comfortable. All the staff was friendly and helpful. This place is not on the resort grounds - across the street. Allowed us to get into our room early! Big mama is great - so accommodating and helpful. Walls are a bit thin - could hear someone in the adjacent room snoring! No safe which would have been helpful. All in all we were pleased.

Our rooms are located by the Bay Area. The place is older but acceptable enough. The ferry ride to Port Lucaya cost $7 back and forth. Staff is very friendly. We had to pay separately for our food which cost us more. Although microwave and a small fridge are provided. I doubt if cups are washed right or rooms are properly kept. I've noticed a lot of dirt hidden under the furniture when I accidentally moved it to pick a battery charger. It’s probably one of the most affordable places to stay in Taino Beach area. Free access to the nearby pool. If you don't mind a place to sleep and go somewhere else during the daytime, I'll still recommend the place. Taino Beach area is beautiful!

The hotel is decent enough if you aren't going to spend much time in your room; the beds are very comfortable and clean. The shower needs to be replaced. I thought the faucet was going to pull the wall down when I pulled it out. The custodial staff is excellent and very responsive. Great access to Taino property. We had to pay additional fees when we checked in despite paying in advance through Cancelon as the VAT has increased and is not covered through those pre-bookings.

We also had won the "free cruise" and 4 night stay. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Kitchenette not completely stocked. Clogged bathroom sink and shower in disrepair, which went along with the rest of the Grand Bahama Island. Despite the 12% VAT, the government doesn't seem to be putting the money back into rebuilding or cleaning up after the hurricanes. And it appeared as if many business owners have followed their lead.

This week we stayed here ..not planned as we were promised the Marlin at Taino Beach by Universal Vacations. So disappointed. Locked into the Motel 6 style old hotel on a marina. Cleaning staff did clean but regularly missed trash taken out. Refill of toilet paper. No towels at times..tile only floors.Worst..3 inch spring mattress.my back is killing me. You're required to pay $200 to use Taino Beach resort ammenities. No longer felt like sitting thru their time share presentation after this bait and switch. But suffered thru anyway as they would charge full price at hundreds of dollars per day of we had not done so..we paid $500 as it was along with air fare to get here from US. Door has gaps so air and come thru. Only given a few things to eat on utensils included 1 fork 1spoon and 2knives.be prepared for the Bahamas prices on groceries..it is all at least double the US..even an old lady selling fruit at a stand would not barter..selling at grocery store prices. People in Bahamas are nice..but are not especially so at Flamingo..if you signed up for timeshare and expect to stay at Taino resort, Get It In Writing before you go! We met 1 couple who had done that, they were sent to "Flamingo 6 motel" but forced the resort to move them when they showed them the letter.
