This is a very lovely beach. It is quiet which was surprising to me due to the multitude of caravan sites located behind the beach. There is a car park on the beach as well as a couple of ice-cream vans. The sea is nice but unpredictable. Some days I was able to use my body board due to the large waves. Other days it was a better choice to use a paddle board. I had two problems with the beach the first was that after about 14:00 the sea goes out very far and is closed by lifeguards due to sinking sand. My other problem was there was a lot of debris on the beach such as large tree branches and tree trunks as well as rocks. Though if you stay away from the back of the beach you won’t notice the debris.

When we arrived and drove along the road which is separated from the beach by some caravan parks and some shops, amusement arcades and eateries and caravan parks on the land side of the road I was concerned that the beach would be too busy and not very picturesque. Once we visited the beach next day I was surprised and impressed. We visited the part near Berrow and walked through sand dunes to reach the beach. When we got there the tide was in and the beach was a beautiful soft light coloured sand. There are posts in the sand and these are to mark the part of the beach that is for people only compared to the part cars can drive on. There is an entrance onto the beach through the car park t The Sundowner Bar. This end of the beach wasn't too busy. As the day went on the tide went out and it was then a long way to the sea. You are warned not to walk out onto the mud because it can become more like quicksand in places. During the day an ice cream van drove along the beach which offered a chance to get some refreshments. The beach stretches miles in both directions.

Nice enough beach, plenty of room when busy. Tide is often out but nice enough on a sunny day. Visited multiple times and dog friendly so ideal for us
