Great British style hotel.. Building is of old British Tudor style. Beautiful nostalgic rooms with excellent old British empire setting.. A must stay if you visit the cool weather Cameron Highlands which is more than 1300m above sea level.. Great British hospitality from a team of great staff..

This hotel is a glimse of what the Cameron Highlands used to be. A place to go to get away and relax in the beautiful mountains. Alas the Cameron Highlands is now a rubbish dump with rampant uncontrolled building and grotesque plastic poly tunnels. The staff here are welcoming. Special mention to our barman. Rooms are furnished in traditional old English so not modern. Only complaint is curtains could do with a wash, Food is fabulous. We had breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. Again traditional English. Gardens are fabulous.

I am with family (total 3 of us, me, wife and son) have afternoon tea at Smokehouse on 25/12. We ordered two set of afternoon tea that consist of 4 scones and tea for 2 persons. As usual, we would like to request just one more cup for my son to share the tea, however, it was rejected by the server. The server explained that they cannot give the cup as the afternoon tea must charge with the cup. I just wondered that we are not ordered 1 afternoon tea but 2 (for 3 person), why that just cannot accommodate? Unless I ordered only 1 afternoon tea for 3 person.

I was there for one night, in the midst of a motorbike trip. Beside the hotel being a very charming place -it felt like in the Black Forrest-, the service was very good. To be pointed out would be our bar tender throughout the whole night at the fireplace, then also the lady preparing us the breakfast in the next morning. Beside of the above, literally everybody in the Smokehouse team was so friendly, in fact: The atmosphere was also having all other guests a very open and friendly mind!!

Totally recommendable!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Smokehouse towards the end of November. Warm smiles greeted us upon entering the reception on the Saturday morning we arrived.

As we are 2 couples (me & my husband together with my parents in-law), we were allocated the hilltop adjoining rooms. The receptionist were kind enough to ask if my parents in-law would be comfortable climbing up some stairs to the room, and offered to change us to a nearer room if stair-climbing is too prohibitive. We had no issues with a couple flight of stairs, but it was a heart-warming gesture to have them taking little things like these into consideration.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Spacious enough for us to have a little water pistol battle between the two adjoining rooms. All is good and well, though my husband did wish that the room's water heater could heat up enough water to fill the tub for a soak. The warm water seems to be just enough for a quick shower before temperature starts decreasing. The hotel could definitely add to its Tudor touch if it could polish up the little defunct fireplace area near our rooms (Room 1 & 2).

Breakfast was good. Especially loved the bread basket and the jams. We had a nice stroll at the immaculately kept garden after breakfast, made for a relaxing Sunday morning with the fresh cool air, chirping birds and gentle rays of sun.

Would definitely be back again.
