Very nice spot away from the crowd. Just between locals. Spacious accommodation. And above all: top hosts. Very helpfull, relaxed pleasant guys. We were very happy that we could stay at Wogoxette Upstairs.
After reading an article published in The Edge, i decided to plan a trip here just for the unique experience. It's like my grandparent's home back in kampung but of course this was with style. The host was very friendly and helpful with my planning and booking. I used to spend more time outdoor during my trips but i actually spent more time enjoying the atmosphere in Woogoxette Upstairs. It's a place perfect for small groups of friends or with family. I enjoyed my stay here a lot. I will definitely come back in the future.
We did have the luck to have (unwittingly) booked over Chinese New Year. Before we arrived we had been invited to join the family's celebrations. The hosts Dennis and Bryan were fantastic - welcoming and so helpful. The flat is upstairs and self-contained, with any family members in residence, living on the ground floor. It provided everything that was needed. The flat is quirky and very individual, set in a small farming village, with everyone living in close proximity. Our stay was very special, as not only were we invited to dinner on New Year's Eve, but again when the brothers' sister and family visited. On both occasions Bryan cooked the most delicious feasts. Dennis took us on a tour of the village, and around the farms. It was a privilege to be included in the family's celebrations, and the brothers' parents were so welcoming, despite their lack of English excluding them from the dinner-table conversations. Bryan put map locations into our phones for visits, including a fantastic Steamboat restaurant in the next village. He recommended a tea plantation that was off the beaten track. Our visit to the area was made by staying with this family, and will be fondly remembered.
We had an amazing time here in Bryan's home. Great place to unwind from the hectic city life, very clean and very very tastefully decorated, the bed sheets smelled wonderful. The best part of this was the balcony of the house, it is huge and overlooking the village and part of the plantations. It is just as you see it in the pictures, definitely not going to be my last time here. Value for your every cent! Perfect for 5 pax or less. Roadside parking can be limited in the village. There are few eateries just a few minutes walk away, or you could also drive to the bigger towns like Brinchang or Tanah Rata for more choices. Weather down in Kuala Terla is not as cold in the afternoon, but at night, it definitely is. Bryan is a very accommodating and knowledgeable host. If you wish to get the feel of staying in a village in Camerons, give this place a visit.
This apartment is really cute, with a quirky and individual style that we really liked and loads of space for our family of 5.
While Cameron Highlands generally is a tourist hotspot, this apartment is located in an authentic, non-touristy village and we loved the insight into Malaysian village life this allowed us to see - the village market with live poultry and a special local corn pancake treat, the neighbour offering us passionfruit, the local kids playing with our children in the playground.
Bryan is a super friendly and welcoming host, and communication was excellent.
One thing to note if you are staying here is that it's quite a drive to the main CH centres (Brinchang, Tanah Rata, etc), so be prepared for plenty of driving on twisty mountain roads :-)
