Tamar Valley Donkey Park
Reviewed 6 March 2018

We had a good time feeding the donkeys and the goats, which seemed to have roam of the area. The guinea pigs and rabbits seemed to not have much room which was a little sad. What put us off was that there were a couple of rescued pigs, however ham sandwiches and sausages were on the menu. Also chickens in the sanctuary, but chicken nuggets on the menu. Seems strange for an animal sanctuary to be serving meat, I realise it is what most people eat and what, but when you're saving some and killing others it is a bit bizarre.

We decided to visit the park at the last minute today as it was a cold, dry day and wanted to do something outdoors and not too expensive. It was only £5 to get in and yes there isn't lots of stuff for a whole day but we were perfectly happy to get to feed a few goats and donkeys and mess around on the outside park. The donkeys were so lovely and really friendly and the owner obviously cares a great deal about them and the lady who served us today was really helpful and took lots of time to explain everything to us. If you want lots of animals to see and for the place to be commercialised this isn't the place for you. If you want to feel like part of the family, grab your wellies and support this great cause then this is for you. We loved it, especially Daphne the donkey, we had lots of fun and will definitely return one day soon.

I visited yesterday with my husband and 6yr old autistic son and had a wonderful afternoon. The staff were so caring with the animals and were attentive to my son. He helped groom the donkeys, and held a guinea pig. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and the play areas both indoor and outdoor were excellent. We didn't visit Santa but had the option to do so. My only advice would be to take a pair of wellies as it was pretty muddy!! Will be returning in the spring.

We came as last year we promised our children they could visit this year. The animals looked well cared for but the pathways could do with being maintained the prices were steep for what it was but we happily paid it. I found it quite strange that they don't have tickets available online.

The children enjoyed the holding of guinea pigs and brushing the donkeys

I have an 11month old and a 8 year old and we all loved it, the indoor play was brilliant although it was pouring with rain and we couldn't use the outdoor play it was brilliant and would highly recommend for children who love to pet animals, we had teddy following us and kissing my 11month old son which made his day, we also met cherry who was so cute! The toddler bit was 11/10, the price is on the expensive side but it's a donkey sanctuary and all the hard work they do I can justify it....loved it and will be returning!!
